Glamping pod at stratford parks

  • Scenic riverside park with a river taxi to Stratford-upon-Avon centre
  • Over a mile and a half of free fishing on the River Avon
  • Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant and a multi-sports pitch on site
Imagine drifting past weeping willows, verdant banks and genteel swans in your own private river taxi, before stepping off in the centre of stunning Stratford-upon-Avon only a mile away. If this sounds like the kind of thing dreams are made of, take a look at Stratford Parks Holiday Park, a peaceful and plant-filled site on the River Avon in the Warwickshire countryside. The park's Riverside Venue Bar and Restaurant has a delicious variety of food and drink, as well as events throughout the high season and on some weekends. There's a multi-sports pitch on site for family games and over a mile and half of free river fishing for those who want to spend a peaceful afternoon on the river banks. A daily river taxi service also runs from Stratford Parks Holiday Park to Stratford-upon-Avon, where there are Shakespeare attractions and lots of places to eat or shop. Arriving with a furry companion? There are also designated dog-walking areas on site.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Welcome was warm and helpful. Big screen was good for live football. Access to river Avon was good. Site was generally clean.

Disliked No choice of pitch. Toilets and showers were very old. Other campers took short cuts close to our van. Many were quite noisy. Pitches were quite close together.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Cleanliness and organisation really good , the boat rides into Stratford are a real treat .

Disliked Two restaurants on site , both with the same menu, makes no sense, ample space on the top level of the clubhouse for a “ kids” playroom , indoor games etc, wasted space , overall a lovely site , we’ve been twice in the last 2 years .

Recommend to friends Visit again

Had a lovely relaxing break overall.

Snug Pod camping pod

Liked Great club house, nice peaceful site despite being vast. Small area for glamping which was nice and pod well maintained. Lovely river taxi into Stratford upon Avon. Close to all amenities. Food reasonably priced and well cooked. Drinks expensive but you expect that. Staff really nice. Toilets and showers clean. Wash up room very clean.

Disliked The beds in the pods were uncomfortable, the double sofa is a very small double and very hard. Whereas the bunk bed mattress was to soft and just sunk. Not really a complaint as I just prefer my creature comfort but we did leave a night early due to the uncomfortable beds.
Shower block was constantly flooded as taps were leaking and wouldnt turn off. They were kept clean though but the dampness in the heat did cause it to have a very unpleasant smell. Extra cost for WiFi £6 PER DAY.

Electric grass touring pitch (riverside)

Liked Location was great for Stratford main attractions and there river taxi was nice

Disliked I know I came during school holidays but it was very expensive (£55 per night incl EHU for a small caravan without awning) There was only 2 river taxis running so at busy times (they only take 6 passengers) you can be in for a long wait and they stop at 5pm.The showers are so dated they look like they haven’t been updated since the 1980s. The shower pressure drops significantly if there are 3 people using them and they stay on for about 10 seconds! Other guests would just walk through your pitch which I found very rude and they called me before I’d even arrived to try to flog me a static which I did not appreciate.

Local attractions

For a change from the river taxi, guests can stroll into Stratford-upon-Avon to take in a play from the Royal Shakespeare Company, have a flutter at the races, or visit the many Shakespeare sights dotted around the city. There’s also excellent retail therapy to be had here, as well as in the elegant surrounding towns of Cheltenham, Royal Leamington Spa and Warwick.
Sporty types will find golf courses, swimming pools and many other facilities nearby, and of course there are plenty of good walking opportunities along the river and out into the lovely Warwickshire countryside. Further along the banks of the Avon are the stately country house of Charlecote Park, and winsome Warwick Castle, which has plenty of things to do and see for all ages. Also nearby are the majestic ruins of Kenilworth Castle, where Robert Dudley and Elizabeth I used to make out; or you could follow in the footsteps of the Gunpowder Plotters of 1605 with a visit to Coughton Court. At the Ragley Hall Estate, visitors can take a tour of the Palladian mansion, go sculpture spotting in the Capability Brown parkland, or lose themselves in the 3D maze. The site is also a great base from which to explore the villages and landscapes of the Cotswolds.
