Great for a properly self contained unit of more than one person
Non-electric hardstanding and grass pitch
Liked I liked the location and the spaciousness of the site. There are lovely walking, running and cycling routes all around. I also liked the lack of 'rules': it's definitely not a over-managed site.
Disliked Considering the lack of facilities, I thought it was expensive. There is no solo discount and dogs are extra so I paid £22 for a night on my own, with no loo. I hope a lot of this goes back to the Forestry Commission!
There was a surprising amount of road noise, especially from late night souped-up cars racing through the forest roads 😕
I'd stay again but only because it was a good halfway point on a longer trip (close to M6)
