Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Spacious level pitches. Close to fabulous walking trails. On site pizza van. Hot showers
Disliked Advertised breakfast van open on Saturday morning, but wasn't.
Shower cubicle had the same debris in from the day we arrived to the day we left - i.e showers were not cleaned regularly
No hand drying facilities in the toilets
Showers are a good concept, however, no ventilation so steam has nowhere to escape so couldn't dry off. Had to leave shower cubicle with damp skin & clothes

With the campsite being quite wide…
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked With the campsite being quite wide open, this allows really good views of The Roaches and Hen Cloud, with this comes plenty of walks/attractions.
Whilst the ground itself is quite flat, there was no overzealous wind which made pitching the tent a breeze.
The warden was really friendly and was easy to have a chat with. Due to this Site being a few minutes out of Leek, there was easy to access to Supermarkets & other shops. Although we didn't use this personally, there was an onsite Pop-up shack that sold Breakfast in the mornings & Pizzas in the evening (we will be trying this when we visit this site again in the future).
Disliked Although flat, the ground got quite boggy and a few vans got stuck so bare this in mind if you have a heavier vehicle without good tyres. There is no hot water for washing up so we had to keep boiling water but the site does state its a back to basics site so what can you expect? There is out of date signage in the bogs which can cause confusion (it conflicts with the entrance sign and listing information, we found pitchup information to be the most accurate). With all of this being said, we will most definitely be returning to this campsite!
