Camping at The Hollies

Gostou Excellent campsite in a stunning location, choice of field locations, very clean toilet and shower facilities. Plenty of room for you to have space around your pitch, and great space for kids to play and enjoy being outside. Firepits available at cost, which were a great addition and we enjoyed roasting marshmallows!!! The staff were very responsive and very friendly.

The roaches walk is totally walkable from the site...we had a great day out doing this, some scrambling and lots of walks to explore which was great fun.

If you want to treat yourself with a meal out, there is a restaurant within a few minutes walk...not budget, but is good food and has boardgames etc to play if thats your thing.

There are lots of villages / towns within a short driving distance to explore, great location for getting out and about.

Gostou Nice facilities, lots of room for pitches, really nice view of the roaches and only a quick drive from Buxton and leek centre

Não gostou £1 coin for 5 mins of the shower, but shower was nice

Gostou Beautiful views and relaxed atmosphere. Quiet at night and your able to have a firepit.

Não gostou Would of liked toilets in the top field as it is quite a walk. It would be nice if there was walks straight from the site. There might be but we couldn't find any.

Gostou It's on the doorstep to some great walks around the reservoir and great for families.

Não gostou The camp was find a pitch and park which was already busy when we arrived.
Kids playing football within a foot of my pitch was very annoying when I was trying to eat.

Gostou Love how close to the Roaches the campsite is, wouldn't say you could walk along the road to them if a family but if a seasoned hiker you could.

Basic campsite for basic camping.

Loved the pizza van and had brownies the first night and pizza the second.

Não gostou For the amount of people camping the toilets were not enough and both in the first field- could do with a small block in the top field.
Also water was only next to the toilet block too with no hot water for washing up.

Gostou I’ve stayed at this campsite many times over the years, and it never disappoints. The site is always clean, well looked after, and has a really welcoming atmosphere. The owners and staff are friendly, helpful, and always go out of their way to make everyone feel at home.

The pitches are spacious, the facilities are well maintained, and it’s a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Whether you’re staying for a weekend or a longer break, it’s a great base and has everything you need.

It’s easy to see why I keep coming back. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a friendly, well-run place to stay. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Gostou Great pleace, clean toilets, clean site, nice friendly owners, amazing views and a food truck that does breakfast and pizza for tea x good value for money and they call round every evening have a chat to you, bring fire pitts and wood

Gostou View was great, very friendly staff and well priced pizza van on site. The camp fire rental is a great idea.

Não gostou Poor facilities, 4 toilets for three fields of people isn't enough and typically by the end of the day they aren't clean.

No hot shower unless you pay a little extra as well was a shame. It isn't an expensive stay, but other places have better facilities at similar prices.

Do gestor: Hi Joe, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. I did just want to correct your point about 4 toilets, there are in fact 6 toilets and a urinal. And I personally clean the toilets every 1 to 2 hours throughout the weekends depending on how busy we are, I didn't find any queues at all this weekend, I was able to clean each toilet one after the other every time I tended to them so I'm not too sure why there were insufficient facilities but apologies if you did have a short wait at some point. You've written that the facilities are 'typically' not clean by the end of the day, however you only stayed 1 night, again I personally continued cleaning the toilets up until 10pm when our warden takes over and regularly cleans them until 2am when he leaves, I'm then back up there by 8am to start again.
I can only apologise if I missed something at some point, I know it rained on Saturday so this made the floors messy but I cleaned them everytime I was there.
The showers are advertised as on £1 meters, we find this keeps from people spending a long time in them, 5 minutes in the shower, dressed and they are out ready for someone else to use. Equally gas and water unfortunately has to be paid for. Rather than adding this to pitch fees we thought it more fair that only those wanting showers pay for them.
We're glad you would recommend us to friends, found the pizza van well priced and firepits a good idea and that the staff were very friendly though 👍

Gostou No check in on arrival. Just arrived and found a pitch and that was it.

Não gostou Bit noisy as the evening went on, but noise is subjective and every night is different. No one on-site managing the environment but there is a number you can call
