Our first visit here but will not be our last. Thank You
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Upon Arrival clearly signposted outside we found the site near the main road but set back so unaffected by traffic.
We were met by the owners, who were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
The site itself is secure and well maintained, with limited pitches it was really lovely. As the pitches are really big with loads of space it is perfect for couples or families. The first thing you’ll notice is the amazing views of the hills ( the roaches) which was stunning. We knew straight away we had picked the right spot. We stayed all weekend and the facilities are great . Two toilets with sinks soap and loo paper provided all very clean and maintained.
An excellent washing up area for your cookware or dishes again everything provided. It was great as only a short stroll from the camping area.
Two things clearly stand out .
1 The owners are remarkable people so helpful on places to go walking or local pubs , one literally a stroll away ( with a great Sunday carvery) others around the area.
2 The animals , the horses were beautiful and you can stroke them , also watching the farmer with his sheepdog and the sheep.

A great little campo site with friendly owners and great scenery
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Really friendly owners that created us at the gate and explained where all the facilities were, local trails, and where the local pubs/ shops were.
Not a big field but great view of roaches, and nice to watch horse and sheep going about.
Good spacious area to wash up dishes.
Disliked: Camping area not too big. Fine if not many people but can imagine if it’s busy, there wouldn’t be much privacy.
Toilets are portaloos which plumbed in water supply. They’re clean but not much space to do your business.

From the manager: Hi many thanks for your review I can state each pitch is a minimum of 24 feet in width with a void of 12 feet between each pitch! We have been told the biggest pitches in the area by many. We only have x12 pitches max which are situated around the perimeter so no one is overlooking and nothing in the centre at all. The field is just over an acre in size. And a max of x5 people per pitch. The toilets are definitely individual mains toilets with sinks inside obviously depends what else you are wanting to do in them as they seem very substantial. Many thanks again and hope to see you again.

Liked: We stayed here for one night in May and it was a lovely spot with stunning views of The Roaches and surrounding countryside. Nice and peaceful when we were there, with plenty of space for each pitch. Facilities were very clean and there are horses on site along with sheep roaming. Beautiful spot for a spontaneous get away.

Non-electric grass campervan pitch
Liked: Lovely host. Site exactly as described. Great views of The Roaches, Hen Cloud etc. Nice pub 2 mins walk away selling basics. Pitches are a really good size but not completely level so bring levelling blocks. We were also very fortunate with the weather.

Brilliant sunsets and walks on this cute little site.
Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: The owners are very lovely. Welcomed us, gave us all the information we needed including how to get to where we wanted to walk.
It was clean and tidy little camp site. Not over crowded.
Stunning sun set which was worth the camp site fee alone.
Camp site feels secure as there is two gates and the house of the owners before the camp site.
Walking is great. We walked to Tittesworth reservoir on a loop walk, this had two pubs on it. The Lazy trout is well worth a visit, try the KFC burger. In easy reach to the roaches. And in a car ludds church, Thors cave and three shires head.
Lots of horses and sheep around the site, the horse in front of us was a little cheeky.
Disliked: Shame they don't my have showers as this would mean we would stay over longer.
