Liked Great location in North Wales. A 15 min drive to Llangollen. Beautiful and compact site with top notch facilities and a warm welcome. Lovely walk from the site along the canal to Aqueduct - just perfect!

Disliked Some road noise which may put people off but wasn't an issue for us.

What customers say

This is a very clean and well-maintained site, praised for its spacious, level, and fully serviced pitches. Visitors consistently highlight the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the excellent toilet and shower facilities. The on-site bar and proximity to local pubs and countryside walks are popular features. The primary drawback noted by several guests is traffic noise from the adjacent busy road, though many found it manageable. Some minor suggestions included adding pot washing facilities and more coat hooks in washrooms.

Liked The pitch was level which is always a good thing and saves time. The site was clean and a bar on site. Open friday and saturday. Pub in walking distance.

Disliked Pitches very close together, road noise was unbearable and kept us awake. Left a day early to try and get sleep before going back to work. Wont be returning.

Local attractions

Longing for the outdoor life? Rafters can hire a craft and splash their way down the rapids at Llangollen (15 minutes' drive), a pretty village in the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains. Those with courage left to spare can abseil, walk through gorges or clamber over rocks at the place's couple of outdoor activity centres; there's also scope for more relaxing rides aboard a volunteer-run heritage railway and horse-drawn jaunts in a restored barge. The ancient town of Chester (30 minutes) is also close if you're up for a change of scene – with museums, Roman remains and one of the finest zoos in all of England, there's a lot here to please any curious kids you've brought along. Additional hands-on activities can be sorted with a trip to Wrexham's Xplore Science Discovery Centre (15 minutes), where live science demos should put a sparkle in any budding boffin's eye. Other likeable local spots include engineering triumphs such as Chirk Aqueduct (20 minutes' walk) and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (10 minutes' drive) or historic houses like Chirk Castle (10 minutes) and Plas Newydd (15 minutes).
