  • Adults-only dog-friendly site near the Shropshire/Staffordshire border
  • A 20-minute drive to Ironbridge Gorge; Wenlock Edge 40 minutes
  • Within a five-minute drive of three pubs and Weston Park
If you like to take a walk or few while you’re away, settling somewhere along the Shropshire/Staffordshire border is a very good idea. And that’s exactly where The Willows Caravan Park sits, opening up options for all sorts of trails across these two scenic counties. Ironbridge Gorge is 20 minutes’ drive away too, and this adults-only Shropshire site is also peaceful, pet-friendly and pretty handily positioned for getting out to pubs, tea rooms and plenty of other places to eat and shop… In fact, there are three pubs and restaurants within a five-minute drive of the site, in Great Chatwell (a 35-minute walk if you’d rather go on foot), Pave Lane and Tong. The market towns of Shifnal and Newport are within a 10-minute drive, plus Telford is only a 20-minute drive away if you're in need of additional convenient amenities. Perhaps you’d like to visit the tea rooms at the garden centre just outside of Albrighton, 10 minutes’ drive away. And with there being a restaurant at the 17th-century Weston Park, five minutes’ drive away, there really is a lot of choice. That's a lot of time dedicated to eating and drinking, so if you find yourself craving a nice long walk, a cycle or some wildlife watching, make your way over to the Shropshire Hills or Cannock Chase, two National Landscapes about half an hour’s drive away. Back on site it’s a simple setup, so don't expect heaps of fancy facilities. All the essentials are covered though, with toilets, showers and a chemical disposal point for guests to use.

What customers say

This is a quiet, secluded, and immaculately clean campsite with spacious, well-maintained pitches. Facilities, including showers and toilets, are consistently praised for their cleanliness and good condition. The site is conveniently located for exploring local attractions and offers a pleasant dog-walking field. While some minimal traffic noise from a nearby main road is noted, it is generally considered unobtrusive. Manager replies confirm that issues such as the gate lock have been addressed.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Lovely country side surroundings and very peaceful despite its close proximity to two main roads in the A5 and A41. Clean and pleasant amenities although only one toilet and shower on each side Men’s and Women’s. Clean and tidy around and great self check in.

Disliked Not a dislike as such but the pitches were nicely spaced but the no parking on the grass made the pitch feel a bit small especially with a porch awning, parking was available by entrance though so ok if not raining. Also the coded lock on the gate was a faff every time you went in or out but did make sure nice and secure so again it’s a minor really.

From the manager: Hi Julian,

Thanks for taking time to leave your review.
Love the photo's - thank you.

Just so you know, ladies toilets actually have 2 separate toilets and a shower,
men's have 1 shower, 1 toilet cubicle and a urinal.

Yes, thanks for noting that parking is available.
Yes, where you are bringing a caravan/similar + awning + a car then yes, you may struggle to get all of that on to one pitch.
In this circumstance, we do kindly ask that you use the car parking available for your car rather than use lawned areas for car parking.
Our aim is to maintain lawned areas for everyone to enjoy.

Hope this helps and we look forward to you visiting again soon.

Kind regards,
Kerry,

Liked Great clean site. Shower block was lovely and clean. Good hot showers. Very level well maintained site. Loved having the horses right next to us and a lovely field to walk around. Felt very safe and was easy to get to.

Disliked Road nearby was quite noisy but that also meant it was easy to get to. Lots of security cameras which felt an invasion of privacy.

Local attractions

This is an excellent area for walks, especially if you head east to the Cannock Chase National Landscape (half an hour’s drive) or west to the Shropshire Hills for top spots like Wenlock Edge and The Lawley (both 40 minutes). There’s also golf, fishing and horse riding close by, or you could opt for a gentler day out with a ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth station (half an hour). If you’ve got an eye for gorgeous gardens, you’re in for a real treat at Weston Park (five minutes), where the gardens around the 17th-century mansion were designed by Capability Brown. To add a bit more history to your break, make a visit to the Royal Air Force Museum Midlands (10 minutes) or spend the day exploring Ironbridge Gorge (25 minutes) – this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to 10 wonderful museums including Blists Hill Victorian Town and the Coalport China Museum – plus the iron bridge itself, of course.
