We are situated on the A49 in Leebotwood, about three miles north of the popular walking town of Church Stretton, and 10 miles south of the very lovely shopping and historic town of Shrewsbury. We are adjacent to The Pound Inn. and Copper Kettle Tea Rooms.
The site turn is on the main A49, which makes us very accessible for caravans and motorhomes.
We are on a busy bus line, with buses running on the hour to and from the local towns. The bus stop is only a short walk from the site.
Local attractions
Next door to Broadmeadow is The Pound Inn, a splendid thatched inn dating back to the fifteenth century, with a tasty line in hearty grub. The local village of Leebotwood also has tea rooms and a farm shop.
You’ll have a perfectly pleasant time whiling away the day in the market town of Church Stretton, three miles away; it has a leisure centre, bike hire, and some good independent shops (including a great deli and a couple of excellent outlets for camping and outdoor leisure gear). Church Stretton also offers a variety of food options, including some cute cafés, foodie pubs, Chinese and Indian restaurants, and various takeaways.
The local Stretton Hills and the Long Mynd offer fabulous riding, walking and cycling, with an abundance of well-marked trails. The Long Mynd is also popular for paragliding, hot air ballooning and gliding.
There are some wonderful places to visit within a relatively small radius of Broadmeadow. Top recommendations include: Ludlow, for its luscious architecture and fab new spa; the medieval county town of Shrewsbury, whose narrow streets are packed with more than 600 listed buildings, and plenty of smart shops; historic Ironbridge, a World Heritage site with ten museums packed along the river banks; and magnificent Powis Castle, just over the Welsh border, and Acton Scott working farm museum (as seen on T.V)
