Route directions

Greendale Farm Caravan & Camping Park is easily found, 4m from Oakham & 6m from Melton Mowbray, just off the A606. CARAVANS MUST APPROACH FROM THIS ROAD, TO BE ABLE TO TURN IN, AND NOT THROUGH THE VILLAGE. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE USING SATELLITE NAVIGATION, which may direct you through the village & also not be aware of the Oakham bypass! From Melton Mowbray [6m]: Follow the A606 towards Oakham. Ignore the first two turnings to Whissendine. Turn left 0.6 mile after the Rutland sign and immediately after a triangular small left turning sign. The campsite is approximately 0.6 mile along on your right. Drive slowly to avoid missing it, as the entrance is discreet! From Oakham [4½m] or from the Oakham Bypass [3½m]: Follow the A606 towards Melton. Ignore the first turning to Whissendine but take the second smaller turning on the right, opposite a camping sign. New right hand lane makes turning much easier. The campsite is approximately 0.6 mile along the lane on your right. Drive slowly to avoid missing it, as the entrance is discreet! From Whissendine [CARS only]: Follow the signs to Oakham. By the last house turn right along Pickwell Lane, signposted to Cold Overton. The campsite is 1/2 mile along on your left.

Local attractions

Besides beautiful Rutland Water for walking, cyling, watersports, nature reserves, boat trip, fishing etc., Greendale is an ideal location for cycling, walking, visiting heritage, eating out, bird-watching, Barnsdale Gardens, markets, interesting shops and much more, besides simply relaxing! There is a considerable amount to do in this area but it is not suitable for those wanting night life and McDonalds. The village pub, however, is a short walk away and worth the visit, having just had a major refurbishment. Less than 3/4 mile away is a bus stop that will take you to Oakham, Stamford and Peterborough in one direction and Melton Mowbray and Nottingham in the other. .
