Activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome is just a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire and set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes. With so much to do around its grounds, it's likely that you'll want to stay put here for your entire trip… and if you do desire to speed off somewhere, Silverstone is only half an hour's drive away. The site has fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and an up-to-date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the team if you want to try your luck. Away from the water, the many other facilities include bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden). Just take note that the bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. There is also a seasonal swimming pool on site. And speaking of the essentials, there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's.

Lakeside camping pod (pet friendly)

Liked The pod was cosy in a beautiful spot for fishing brilliant shower everything u need on sight i imagine in summer it being even more brilliant staff friendly

Liked Great showers and toilet blocks. Used the shop which was sufficient. Clean and tidy site. Didn’t use ‘The Venue’ but I’m sure it’s lots of fun for families. Easy to access from main roads running through Northampton.

Disliked Lots of kids cycling about in the dark with no lights which seemed unsafe as cars and vans were still driving about. Some noise late at night from chavs yelling at their mates. Could do with staff enforcement of good conduct amongst visitors.

Liked Great site and facilities. This was a return visit to go on the train again with the children. We were in a caravan and friends in a tent - our pitches were far apart. We didn’t use l an wifi as there is 5g signal across the whole site. Good walks to the lakes surrounding the site.

Disliked The waste water points were blocked and in deep of a clean.
