  • Woodland campsite on a private estate at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire
  • Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre 10 minutes’ drive
  • Spacious pitches and modern facilities; three fishing lakes on site
Time for a hideaway holiday on a Lincolnshire estate? With spacious level pitches and sparkling modern amenities, Woodhall Country Park sits within 2,000 acres of lush wooded parkland on the outskirts of the popular village of Woodhall Spa, and offers peace and quiet in bundles. Tip-top facilities include pristine shower blocks with designated family rooms, and a small licensed store at reception, where you can also gather tourist information, buy bottled gas and purchase tokens for the washing machine and dryer. And the good news just keeps on coming. The anglers in your party will be pleased to hear that there are three well-stocked fishing lakes at their exclusive disposal for a small fee, while you can stretch your legs – and those of any accompanying furry pals – on quiet rural walks straight from the spacious hardstanding pitches. Kids are catered for with a dedicated play area for ball games as well as swings, slides and climbing frames. Keen alfresco chefs can use the shared food prep room with sinks, worktops, a kettle, fridge and freezer. Handily there are recycling points as well as two electric vehicle charging points, and you’ll rest easy safe in the knowledge that there is a secure barrier across the campsite entrance at all times.

What customers say

Guests praise the spacious pitches, peaceful woodland setting, and friendly staff. The location is ideal for walking to Woodhall Spa. While many found facilities clean and modern, some reported issues with cleanliness, dated showers, and inconsistent Wi-Fi. The on-site bar and food options are generally well-received. Some visitors felt the site was expensive for the facilities offered.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The shower blocks were clean enough and the staff were friendly. The new clubhouse also looks promising and should improve the overall experience.

Disliked For £47 on an off-peak Saturday, we didn’t feel the site offered particularly good value for money. The pitches didn’t seem especially well maintained or looked after, which gave the park a slightly tired feel overall. Although the staff were friendly enough, check-in felt quite rushed and we weren’t given much information or guidance about the site.

Overall, the facilities and general upkeep just didn’t match the premium nightly price, especially compared to other parks we’ve stayed at for a similar cost.

Jen C. 1 review

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch

Liked The park is beautiful! We have been before and we shall be back! It’s set in a lovely location and has all the amenities you could want! We love the walks on site and just off site into Woodhall.

Disliked We didn’t like the pitch, FS40, it was a very small pitch, hard standing, fully serviced pitch, narrowing towards the back, so with a large car and 2 children, we couldn’t put up our porch awning as the opening would have been in the hedge, and we couldn’t fit our car fully up the side of the caravan as we couldn’t get in and out of it, and this made the water waste for caravan under the centre of the caravan too. However, we were also next to some much bigger pitches which were empty! And I had made a note on my booking to be nearer family, which would’ve been these pitches, however, using pitch up to book, it seems they issue a pitch at booking which we didn’t question! Lessons learnt!
Didn’t like that they cleaned the shower block around 8am when we wanted showers! And that they’d taken down the castle/fort in the children’s play area and not replaced it with anything.

Local attractions

Woodhall Spa (15 minutes’ walk) is well worthy of your attention; once a renowned Victorian spa resort, today it has cute-as-a-picture cafés, artisan stores selling local produce and two challenging golf courses. Occupying a former sports hall, The Kinema In The Woods shows classic and blockbuster films to the musical accompaniment of an original John Compton organ. Anyone with an interest in Lincolnshire’s aviation heritage should head to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre (10 minutes’ drive) for guided tours around hangars full of military aircraft, or give thanks to war heroes before the memorial at the International Bomber Command Centre (half an hour). Wind up your day with a relaxing pint or two at the Dambusters Inn at Scampton (40 minutes), which is packed with World War II memorabilia. Outdoorsy types pay attention now, as Woodhall Country Park is also gateway to hikes and cycle rides in the undulating Lincolnshire Wolds (20 minutes). And should you be chomping at the bit to get to the seaside, the traditional resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes are all less than 50 minutes’ drive away.
