  • Woodland campsite on a private estate at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire
  • Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre 10 minutes’ drive
  • Spacious pitches and modern facilities; three fishing lakes on site
Time for a hideaway holiday on a Lincolnshire estate? With spacious level pitches and sparkling modern amenities, Woodhall Country Park sits within 2,000 acres of lush wooded parkland on the outskirts of the popular village of Woodhall Spa, and offers peace and quiet in bundles. Tip-top facilities include pristine shower blocks with designated family rooms, and a small licensed store at reception, where you can also gather tourist information, buy bottled gas and purchase tokens for the washing machine and dryer. And the good news just keeps on coming. The anglers in your party will be pleased to hear that there are three well-stocked fishing lakes at their exclusive disposal for a small fee, while you can stretch your legs – and those of any accompanying furry pals – on quiet rural walks straight from the spacious hardstanding pitches. Kids are catered for with a dedicated play area for ball games as well as swings, slides and climbing frames. Keen alfresco chefs can use the shared food prep room with sinks, worktops, a kettle, fridge and freezer. Handily there are recycling points as well as two electric vehicle charging points, and you’ll rest easy safe in the knowledge that there is a secure barrier across the campsite entrance at all times.

Liked I'd that morning ran the Leeds Half Marathon in the blistering heat. Leeds was bedlam, with thousands of runners, spectators, stewards and dogs and getting out of city was a challenge. The two hour journey to Woodhall Country Park was a race against time to meet the reception close time but we done it. Alll of that was worth it as this place is truly magical, peaceful, tranquil and all of those running pains and stresses immediately melted away. We are already looking at dates to return and stay for longer. Simply beautiful.

Disliked The shop closed at 5pm and there is only food available on the site, Fri- Sun, however there are great pubs/restaurants close by. Nothing else to dislike.

From the manager: Hello,

Liked Overall 5 stars, have stayed before August 24 Bank Holiday weekend and was one pitch that played music and were loud till early hours, but it didn’t ruin anything, think that’s just a consideration for others thing. Compared to this time April 25 Easter Holidays, was unbelievably quiet, no waiting for showers or toilets. Cleaned regularly. Bar on site was great, great cider. However last time was a burger van stationary next to the bar, no sure if is out of season or too early yet. But maybe idea to support your local businesses and have a fish and chip shop van or pizza van any catering outlet on site at weekends too or even specific nights. Huge area for you to also have a giant screen like Tattershall, would be great for watching football or having set days/times for kids films during school holidays. Used the dog/bike wash, was boiling hot and secure not complaining as asked to turn down and they did. Water was piping hot to wash pots with. New lady on reception, was her first day on the job, so was nervous but everyone has to start somewhere right? you are great and will get there! Keep going! Good luck with the bank holiday weekend coming up!

Disliked Only thing would say is toilets did smell like poo often which is understandable, but easily sorted with an air fresher that squirts every so often. And the bins for rubbish were full. Our neighbouring pitch who we were with for our stay did say they had lots of holes, so had to be weary of were to pitch the tent.

From the manager: Hello,

Thank you for your review, all feedback we receive is greatly appreciated!

We are glad to hear your enjoyed your stay with us and found it a quieter stay this year. In regard to the food, we have a vendor joining us Easter Weekend and will be with us for the season so hopefully you can return for another visit and enjoy all of our facilities.

Liked Peaceful country campsite, toilets are always clean. Park was quiet and the children had lots of space to play. Pitch sizes are spaced with plenty of room. Dog friendly making it ideal for a family break. The park was clean and tidy and we had a lovely time.

Disliked Food trailer wasn't there this trip would benefit from some kind of food vendor on site.

From the manager: Hello,

Thank you for your review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us.

Sorry that there was no food vendor on site, we now have a vendor that started with us Easter Weekend and will be with us for the season.

We hope to see you again soon!

Local attractions

Woodhall Spa (15 minutes’ walk) is well worthy of your attention; once a renowned Victorian spa resort, today it has cute-as-a-picture cafés, artisan stores selling local produce and two challenging golf courses. Occupying a former sports hall, The Kinema In The Woods shows classic and blockbuster films to the musical accompaniment of an original John Compton organ. Anyone with an interest in Lincolnshire’s aviation heritage should head to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre (10 minutes’ drive) for guided tours around hangars full of military aircraft, or give thanks to war heroes before the memorial at the International Bomber Command Centre (half an hour). Wind up your day with a relaxing pint or two at the Dambusters Inn at Scampton (40 minutes), which is packed with World War II memorabilia. Outdoorsy types pay attention now, as Woodhall Country Park is also gateway to hikes and cycle rides in the undulating Lincolnshire Wolds (20 minutes). And should you be chomping at the bit to get to the seaside, the traditional resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes are all less than 50 minutes’ drive away.
