Stamford Meadows Glamping: Patio

General

  • Luxury fully furnished yurts in a private setting
  • A 10-minute walk into Stamford; 10 minutes’ drive to Burghley House
  • Exclusive use of alfresco kitchen, hot tub and bathroom

Can’t decide between town and country? There’s no need to at Stamford Meadows Glamping, as you’ve got absolutely the best of both worlds. Hidden away in a private woodland garden with walnut trees, this luxurious little Lincolnshire site is only a 10-minute walk from the Georgian centre of Stamford.

You'll be staying in a fully furnished yurt – it has a skylight for peeping at the stars, and is fully insulated and heated by a wood-burning stove. Sleeping up to four, it’s kitted out with Egyptian cotton linen, a comfy duvet and throws on the king-size bed. There’s plenty of storage space, a couple of chairs and tables, and phone-charging facilities as well.

Outside in the garden, there are lots of surprises. For starters, the six-person wood-fired hot tub can be hired for your exclusive use, and there’s a firepit (a bundle of recycled sawdust logs will get you going, and you can buy more) as well as an outdoor table to cosy up around.

A private kitchen stands next to the yurt – it comes equipped with running water and a two-ring gas stove as well as crockery, cutlery, pans and glasses, plus a fridge with a small freezer section. The private eco toilet and the shower facilities are next to each unit too, with gowns, towels and shampoo provided.

Although there are excellent rail links, there is space for one car on site. And when you do manage to tear yourselves away from this luxurious haven, Stamford has bags to offer, from a lovely old church to a bunch of pubs, takeaways and restaurants.

The whole weekend was absolutely perfect, Amelia had gone out of her way to decorate our sleeping area with balloons/banners for my daughters 2nd birthday ! The whole set up was more modern/fancier than we imagined which just made our stay even more enjoyable, the hot tub was incredible and the perfect end to each evening. Having the campfire was so nice for my daughter as it’s not something we can do on a regular basis. The tent was super cost, we weren’t cold once In there ! The kitchen was functionally extremely well and it was very kind to receive a welcome package. The location is perfect, you are out of the town so you truly feel like you are in the middle of no where but after a 10-15 minute walk you are in the beautiful town of Stamford. Honestly cannot fault the weekend at all, we will definitely be returning

Beautiful accomodation and friendly host in a great location. Star gazing in the hot tub was stunning, as was the site; lovely to have the space to yourself. Amelia had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We all loved it.

We had the best time at Stamford Meadows Glamping!! This really is a beautiful hidden gem, Amelia and Yogi have literally thought of everything to make staying here as comfortable and special as it can possibly be. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by Amelia who is such a lovely, kind and thoughtful person, everything was perfect (it’s even more amazing than the pictures!!) and very clean!! So much effort has gone into this, including all the little details which makes this place absolutely gorgeous. Fully kitted out kitchen, private bathroom with a shower, super comfy bed, towels, robes, blankets, a cupboard full of books and games, even a barbecue! The hot tub was awesome, and we even had a welcome hamper with Prosecco and cake (what more can a girl want??)! Stamford is just a short walk away too, with lots of interesting shops, pubs and cafes. It was great to meet Amelia, Yogi and Flin the cocker spaniel…thank you so much for making our stay so special, we haven’t enjoyed ourselves this much in ages and we’ll definitely be back to enjoy this again. Until then…we wish you the very best, from Emily, Liam and George x x

Local attractions

Stamford (10 minutes’ walk) is the obvious place to start explorations of this charming corner of Lincolnshire, with its mellow-stone Georgian architecture. The market town of Uppingham (20 minutes’ drive), where you can potter around antique shops and try out a few local pubs, easily matches Stamford in the beauty stakes.

There are some very grand houses hereabout too. Majestic Burghley House (10 minutes) is open (Sunday to Thursday) for guided tours of glamorous state apartments. You can also tour the park, designed by Capability Brown, where there’s a mirrored maze with water jets to amuse the kids.

And talking of the kids – have they behaved? If so, then them treat to thrills and spills on inflatable obstacle courses or the adrenaline-thumping slides at Aqua Park Rutland (15 minutes). And if they’re keen to get out into nature, there are walks, watersports hire and lessons, and fishing opportunities on Rutland Water (15 minutes).
