  • Small and peaceful adults-only site with pub and restaurant
  • A 20-minute drive from Skegness beaches, fairground and seal sanctuary
  • Within 25 minutes of the Viking Way and Lindsey Trail scenic routes
Country footpaths, home-cooked local produce and traditional ales, coastal walks and castles… half an hour’s drive from New York? No, there’s no mistake, but the New York in question is in rural Lincolnshire, as is the quiet, simple and very uncitylike Eaves Inn. As you may have guessed, there's a country pub to be found here... The site's at the back of a traditional country inn, open from Thursdays to Sundays to serve local ale from its cosy bar and a wide menu of eats in its restaurant. It's all rather scenic too, as pitches are in a wide field with views across farmland and fen, in the centre of the village of Little Steeping. Around the region, it's a 20-minute drive from here to Skegness. Shops and supermarkets are in Skegness and barbecues are allowed on this adults-only site, you can indulge in a bit of outdoor grilling any time you like. Work up an appetite by taking the dog for a brisk walk on the footpaths passing by the site. While the combination of pub plus field plus view is spectacularly simple, that doesn’t mean roughing it: a modern block combines hot showers, sinks and a washing-up area, all of it gleaming and heated.

This is a peaceful, adults-only campsite with clean facilities and spacious pitches. The on-site pub receives consistent praise for its excellent, home-cooked food and friendly staff. Minor issues reported include occasional grass clippings not being collected and limited toilet/shower facilities when busy. Access roads can be narrow. Electric grass pitch

Liked We liked that it was an adults only site, so no annoying kids wondering about. It was a good size grass pitch. Delicious food was served in the pub at night.

Disliked It was a shame that the pub was not open for drinks in the daytime on Saturday.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Cracking stay at the Eaves inn, lovely campsite with good facilities. The staff and locals at the pub were very friendly and welcoming. Buster (my shih tzu) especially had a blast, he got fussed by everyone and was given lots of treats which are free on the bar. The owner gave him a doggy iced cream and a local lady bought him a treat bag. He made a friend called Amber and didn’t want to leave. Never got chance to try the food but another camper told me that it was absolutely amazing with portion sizes being huge. Will definitely come back to this well maintained quiet, friendly site.

Disliked Having to leave 🤣

Electric grass pitch

Liked Size of tent pitch
Peaceful
Pub on site
Clean toilets
Clean showers
Nice staff
Self check in
Choose own pitch
Electric plug in
Always enough toilet roll and hand wipes and soap in toilets.
Very reasonable cost
Near to places of interest, Lincolnshire Wildlife Park nice day out
Really out with nature in the countryside

Disliked As others have suggested would be fantastic if the toilets were separate to the showers as could be waiting a while to use loo if both showers are being used and brought no facilities of your own.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Super peaceful open space large pitches
Quick drive to local town for food shop but still far enough to not hear any traffic just some cows mooing occasional jet from the Raf base and pure silence of rural Lincolnshire.
Pub on site open half of the week for easy meal and drinks too.
Bathrooms perfect for those new to camping as its toilet sink and shower in one room
Free WiFi (not as strong at the back of the camp obviously as its far away)
Staff was super lovely and friendly definitely coming back even if its for a weekend getaway

Electric grass pitch

Liked Upon arrival we met the owner who informed us the procedure of checking in. We also booked a table for Sunday dinner. We set our caravan up and then went to dinner. I have to say our prawn cocktail starter and roast lamb were absolutely gorgeous! The quality and quantity were exceptional! Our 4 night stay was perfect. Facilities were 100%. If you are looking for quiet and relaxing then this is perfect!

Disliked We wished the bar and restaurant were open more frequently as it is so lovely in there and also with quality food!

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked The area is nice and quiet (mostly)
Great display of F14s flying above as the training base is local so I’m told.

Toilet and shower area clean.

Disliked The only things we disliked was the fact no one even said hello , it’s apparently a self check in service. A quick hi how are you would have been nice but other than that it was okay.
Also wifi didn’t work, no biggy but could be for others .

From the manager: Thank you for your review although it is somewhat sarcastic. We in Lincolnshire are very proud of our RAF Heritage and to be fair they do not fly that much at night. These guys are looking after our country, so think about that. You booked your pitch at 5.38 on Monday 4th you arrived on Tuesday 5th you booked 1 night so you left on Wednesday. 6th. The opening times for the pub are not a secret and so is the fact this is self check in. You came on Tuesday when there is no staff here as such because the pubis closed and I take that as my only real day off . The password for the wifi is on the notice board and does work and free a lot of sites now charge., You pitched up really out of the way around the corner to the right .. 1 night late booking feel your having a bit of laugh.. Never mind

peaceful site, showers poor, no greeting on arrival.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Very quiet site & peaceful.

Disliked Grass needed cutting, showers poor, water just trickling and going warm to cold, only two showers & toilets for whole site.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review . Grass did not need cutting it had been cut and really it has been so hot and dry the grass had not grown . I had someone complain why was the grass being cut because there was none . The water in the showers well I can just say the water pressure here is high but if if someone is filling up their water barrel, washing up etc the pressure will drop, when you are a town person you would not understand that. The site, I do not over book out so never over full . Check it out.. I did notice the accommodation you brought with you only scored a 3 maybe upgrade. Cleanliness here is 5 star you only scored me 3. Customer service, this is self check in choose your own pitch , easy going no pressure site , you did not come into the pub so I do not know how you can mark me with almost zero customer service . I am so pleased you do not want to come back because I have so many that do.

Local attractions

If seeking a taste of traditional seaside stuff, set course for Skegness for sands and dunes, fairground rides and pier promenades, and endearing encounters with the residents of Natureland Seal Sanctuary. For meetings of the furred and feathered kind, it’s 15 minutes to the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, home to tigers, tapirs, lemurs and hundreds of species of rescued parrots. If you prefer your wildlife in the wild, make the half-hour journey to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, a prairie-like vastness of dunes and wetlands where you can spot terns and skylarks while walking the trails. For longer hikes and bike rides, Horncastle (25 minutes) is a hub for two major routes: the Viking Way links the Humber Estuary with Rutland Water over 147 miles of grand terrain, while the 80 miles of the Lindsey Trail focus on the chalk hills, woodlands and ancient history of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Wartime history lies thick on the ground in these parts too, thanks to the role played by Lincolnshire’s people and airfields in the Battle of Britain: learn more at the Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre and the International Bomber Command Centre (20 minutes, half an hour and an hour away). Whether birdwatching or battlements are your bag, Tattershall Castle (half an hour) is worth a turn around, with 15th-century show-off interiors, woodlands full of wildlife and lakes nearby for wakeboarding and watery assault courses.
