  • In a secluded location on a working 140-acre family farm
  • Four miles from Skegness and a 10-minute drive from the Lincs Wolds
  • Fishing lake, playground and access to miles of walks around the farm
Park yourself at this smashing site for dreamy days deep in Lincolnshire countryside, easy angling on site and proximity to seaside days… family-run Windfarm Park is only four miles west of Skegness and a 10-minute drive from the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. But you might decide to stick around on site when you see what's on offer right at your secluded countryside base. Windfarm Park's fishing lake is a popular pull for anglers of all ages, as a place where tiddlers can land small fish easily and where the more experienced can catch specimen bream, carp, barbel, chub, tench, roach and rudd (a small extra charge applies for fishing). Lots of walks are around too, including several miles of private strolls around the farm taking in the many species of local wildlife. Windfarm Park is a 140-acre farm in a deeply rural and secluded setting, set up for back to basics stays with fishing thrown in. It's a pet-friendly, family-friendly and warmly welcoming site, a short distance from the pubs, restaurants, takeaways and small supermarkets of the villages of Burgh Le Marsh, Wainfleet and Croft. The owners generate their own electricity via a solar farm. The farm also has a playground and plenty of room for kids to run around. The heated, well-sized and excellently-kept facilities block has modern free hot showers and sockets for hairdryers; the family room is suitable for guests with disabilities.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, peaceful campsite with spacious pitches and beautiful grounds, featuring a fishing lake and a play area. Visitors consistently praise the friendly and helpful owners, the cleanliness of the facilities (especially showers), and the convenient location close to Skegness. Some reviews mention muddy conditions after heavy rain, and a few suggest more showers or washing-up stations would be beneficial during peak times. Wildlife is abundant, which some find charming and others note as a minor issue with droppings. Overall, it's highly recommended for a relaxing family break.

From the manager: We are sorry that you found our site "too big" - I'm not sure if you meant too many campers or too much free space, we have a lot of that! As a licensed site we have the correct facilities for the number of pitches. Camping does involve the shared use of facilities, and unless we provide individual showers and toilets for every guest it is inevitable that at peak times some queuing is possible. Our shower block is professionally cleaned every morning, obviously it can deteriorate through the day as some people can be inconsiderate. If you had mentioned to us that there was an area of concern we would have been happy to rectify it for you. I would however like to point out that other guests staying at the same time as yourselves have commented how clean the facilities were.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (XL)

Liked Great open field lots of space if you don't want a hook up. Overall this is a good site and if you are just using for a base to visit Lincolnshire then its cheap and well located. I would stay here again

Disliked It was quite busy the weekend we were there but the toilets and showers could do with a good deep clean and the drainage sorting out as water doesn't flow down drain in shower but pools in the area to get dry. It just needs a little TLC.

Local attractions

Bring your bikes along if you can, as the farm is on the edge of the Wolds, land so flat that you could pedal around it all day. Plenty of quiet back lanes are around to explore, so bring along binoculars too as some of the loudest noises here come from birds. Areas of wetland habitat to encourage wading birds and wildfowl have been set up by neighbouring farmers. Seaside? The lively entertainment of Skegness and Ingoldmells are nearby, for days at Fantasy Island, the Embassy Theatre, Skegness pier, Skegness Aquarium, several golf courses, a swimming pool and fitness centre, Natureland, skate park and more. Quiet beaches (sometimes deserted) can be found 10 minutes south of Skegness at Gibraltar Point or further up the coast beyond Ingoldmells. For towns, Horncastle with its many antique shops is a 20-minute drive away (for a real antique hunt, go a little further afield to Hemswell Antique Centre, north of Lincoln), and the farm's nearest large town Boston is about 20 miles south with river cruises on the Wash and inland trips on the Witham via the Boston Belle. Also recommended by the Windfarm Park owners is the Battle of Britain memorial flight, based at RAF Coningsby.
