  • In a secluded location on a working 140-acre family farm
  • Four miles from Skegness and a 10-minute drive from the Lincs Wolds
  • Fishing lake, playground and access to miles of walks around the farm
Park yourself at this smashing site for dreamy days deep in Lincolnshire countryside, easy angling on site and proximity to seaside days… family-run Windfarm Park is only four miles west of Skegness and a 10-minute drive from the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. But you might decide to stick around on site when you see what's on offer right at your secluded countryside base. Windfarm Park's fishing lake is a popular pull for anglers of all ages, as a place where tiddlers can land small fish easily and where the more experienced can catch specimen bream, carp, barbel, chub, tench, roach and rudd (a small extra charge applies for fishing). Lots of walks are around too, including several miles of private strolls around the farm taking in the many species of local wildlife. Windfarm Park is a 140-acre farm in a deeply rural and secluded setting, set up for back to basics stays with fishing thrown in. It's a pet-friendly, family-friendly and warmly welcoming site, a short distance from the pubs, restaurants, takeaways and small supermarkets of the villages of Burgh Le Marsh, Wainfleet and Croft. The owners generate their own electricity via a solar farm. The farm also has a playground and plenty of room for kids to run around. The heated, well-sized and excellently-kept facilities block has modern free hot showers and sockets for hairdryers; the family room is suitable for guests with disabilities.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (XL)

Liked Really nice quite campsite, owners very friendly, great for the kids to run around, facilities are good.

Disliked Facilities are great, however after a couple of days the toilets/showers were begining to get a bit grubby, however I think that was down to some of the campers and their kids leaving it a bit of a mess, not sure if the expectation is that the campers are responsible for keeping the toilets and showers clean or if they're supposed to have a cleaner, either way I cleaned up after myself but others didnt, thats the only downside and not a major issue really.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (XL)

Liked Lovely location, close enough to the coast without the overcrowding. Close to a shop, fish and chips, ATM.
Friendly, welcoming host.
Toilet and shower blocks clean and no need to queue during our stay.
Kids enjoyed the small play area.

Disliked Pitched next to the walking route to the toilet block, some guests not so respectful at 1am with loud conversations and bright torch lights on the way.
Tents close together.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (XL)

Liked Booked on the same day we intended to go. Pitched right by the lake. Beautiful scenery. The owner escorted us to our pitch. Very thorough with any info we may need. Clean beautifully kept grounds. Showers were lovely and hot, spacious and clean. Plenty of clean toilets. We only had a short stay but we were very pleasantly surprised. For saying it was a last minute break on a budget, we felt quite spoilt. Only ten minute drive from the beach and 5 mins from shops.

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (XL)

Liked The lake is lovely with good views , rabbits and deer were lovely to watch in an evening, location is good , lovely town next to it with good pubs but definitely book they fill up quick !

Disliked Site was quite noisy in an evening and early morning , a lot of kids screaming in the park until 10pm (which isn’t the sites fault but still annoying)
And the geese at 5am screeching on the barn roof
Toilet block is pretty dated but showers were hot

Electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (XL)

Liked Our stay at windfarm park was great, great location if you want to visit the coast and local towns, far enough into the fields to relax but close enough to the shops and amenities. Owners were kind honest people. Pitches are ample for big tents and e-hook up was seamless. All water drinking on site, the grounds were more or less immaculate and freedom to roam around the site was great, ability to walk upto the turbines was something I liked alot, initially thought noise would be an issue but surprisingly they didn't produce much at all. Lots of wildlife to look at, including the lake and surrounding fields. Very nice setting, shower and toilet block was clean and adequate for the size of the site, shower availability wasn't an issue, i didn't have to wait once. Also had disabled show available with temp control for my little one. I went with my 2.5 year old in the height of a British heat wave, owner does try to give preference to little one for shaded spots, the park/play area was very useful to have far a young family, park /play area could be expended further to criticise anything at all. All in all 10/10 for what we paid, would return again, Many thanks.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch (XL)

Liked Campsite was located in a good place, short drive to village and also Skegness. Level pitches, well kept.

Disliked Only two showers available which meant queuing on both times I had a shower.

Local attractions

Bring your bikes along if you can, as the farm is on the edge of the Wolds, land so flat that you could pedal around it all day. Plenty of quiet back lanes are around to explore, so bring along binoculars too as some of the loudest noises here come from birds. Areas of wetland habitat to encourage wading birds and wildfowl have been set up by neighbouring farmers. Seaside? The lively entertainment of Skegness and Ingoldmells are nearby, for days at Fantasy Island, the Embassy Theatre, Skegness pier, Skegness Aquarium, several golf courses, a swimming pool and fitness centre, Natureland, skate park and more. Quiet beaches (sometimes deserted) can be found 10 minutes south of Skegness at Gibraltar Point or further up the coast beyond Ingoldmells. For towns, Horncastle with its many antique shops is a 20-minute drive away (for a real antique hunt, go a little further afield to Hemswell Antique Centre, north of Lincoln), and the farm's nearest large town Boston is about 20 miles south with river cruises on the Wash and inland trips on the Witham via the Boston Belle. Also recommended by the Windfarm Park owners is the Battle of Britain memorial flight, based at RAF Coningsby.
