  • Well-kept site in scenic countryside near Skegness
  • Peaceful but close to seaside amenities
  • Two fishing lakes, friendly family team and well-kept facilities
Off to Skeggy? Make a champion decision to stay in peaceful rest in the countryside between days at the beach, with a stay at The Laurels at Addlethorpe. As a chuffed former guest chuffedly pointed out, the park is the best of both worlds, close enough to Skegness (three miles) to get there without any faff, but far away enough to be away from maddening crowds and any accompanying din. Settle down here to use the site as a base for Skegness, Ingoldmells and the Lincolnshire coast, or just to chill out in peace in the scenic countryside: if you're up for a bit of the latter, you'll probably also like the park's two fully-stocked fishing lakes at which to get contemplative… The park covers 18 acres so there's heaps of space for all, and everything is kept an eye on by the friendly family team which goes out of its way to make sure everyone has a champion stay. Amenities are immaculately kept and include a toilet block with hot showers, a launderette and a drying room.

Liked Very clean and well looked after site. Pitches are large and well serviced. We stayed in a pitch by the lake; it was quiet, lovely outlook with wildlife all around. Facilities were very modern with hot showers and toilet blocks in many places. Breakfast was available from the little shack open in the mornings with a wide choice available.

Liked We like the place so much, we inquired about a seasonal pitch!
Sally and Ian are a very friendly and helpful couple. Ian said nothing is a problem which made me smile. I had a good walk around the whole site with my dog, she loves everyone, their all friendly. Toilets and showers ALWAYS immaculate and spotless.

Disliked Nothing.

Liked The fishing was excellent.

Disliked Shower block was to far away and cost 50p for 4 minutes, that’s fine but the shower was pathetic! Didn’t like the fact I had to pay full price for my two grandchildren to fish.

From the manager: Good Afternoon Ian,
I fully respect your comments but can I bring to your attention the two toilet blocks nearest Pitch 99 one is 153 meters and the other is 122 meters if this is to far probably on a return visit may I suggest you ring us direct for a pitch that is more suitable for your needs ps These pitches are adults only.
You are correct the showers are 50p for 4 minutes pathetic I dispute whether the pressure was reduced during your stay would not be a site problem but a external one down to the local water company.
I noticed your comment about excellent fishing that is down our hard work, care and maintenance of my valuable stock .
Your grandson's were not charged full price they were charged £6 /rod x 2 =£12 full price should have been £18.
I suggest if you were to go somewhere else for less money and catch less fish, they would be bored.
Kind regards
Neil Hobbins

Liked Really friendly welcome, owners make you feel like family from the second you arrive, all other campers polite and friendly, such a beautiful site, we had a hard standing pitch, well maintained and good size pitches.

Dog walk down the side of the site is great.
Clean facilities, 2 lakes which are beautiful, much box providing breakfast, we didn’t use but we know for next time 🥰

Disliked As first timers on hardstanding pitch, we didn’t realise it would be solid concrete, 🤦🏼‍♀️ we assumed it would be lots of stones / pebbles on grass, we wasn’t able to peg our awning down the usual way, we did use the weather straps into the grass, so lesson for us, not the site fault but that’s the only dislike we had 🤭 it’s such a lovely site!

Local attractions

The site's local village of Addlethorpe has a café, restaurant, golf course and pub; Ingoldmells has heaps of options at its Fantasy Island theme park, and other seaside towns like Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea are easily reached along the coast. Skegness is the most visited seaside town on the Lincolnshire coast and has a good bit more than its beaches and pier, like its aquarium and Natureland Seal Sanctuary, cinema, theatre and golf courses. The birdwatching of the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve lies to the town's south. Inland, get to the Wolds and the long-distance Viking Way for peaceful wandering, and to market towns like Alford, Horncastle and Louth to bag the best of fresh local produce.
