  • Small dog-friendly site surrounded by the Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to Cleethorpes’ beach, boating lake and country park
  • Barbecues and firepits welcome; five minutes’ drive to shops and pubs
Looking for some downtime in pretty Lincolnshire? Noah’s Retreat will soon have you building barbecues or dabbling in watersports on the Lincolnshire coast 20 minutes’ drive away. The small, friendly Laceby site is 15 minutes’ drive from Grimsby and 20 minutes from Cleethorpes and welcomes dogs and families. There’s plenty of countryside around Noah’s Retreat for walking your little furry companions, and they’re sure to be well pleased with the leftovers you wind up with after your barbecues. The keen golfers among you might want to get out on the golf course next door. Come nightfall, rustle up a firepit if you’d like (or get yourself any early night for the next day’s adventures). If you’d like something tasty to much on around the pit, there are shops in Waltham five minutes’ drive away. And if you’d like to let someone else sort out your dinner for you, there’s also a bunch of takeaways, pubs and restaurants within five minutes’ drive of Noah’s Retreat. There are handy public transport links in the towns too.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Flat well drained

Disliked How can you say its a collection of weirdos living there permanently without upsetting some as possibly have no choice but alcoholics, smack heads and travellers mixed with weird staff that have no interest in the camping facilities means it won't be on my go to places.

The disabled toilet and shower was locked and when asked was told it was being refurbished but seemed to magically be open and in use whenever the site dweller who lived in cabin opposite toilets wanted to shower.

Staff and assume permanent residents liked to park up and sit drinking outside ladies toilet which a few of the campers including my wife found disturbing

The toilets were absolutely filthy not from recent use but neglect over a long time ... see piccys with gents being worse and shower chair split and dangerous ... the only gent cubicle with a lock was full of skid marks when we arrived and added to over weekend

The supposed wash up area was constantly filthy and full of what I assume was carpet cleaners and filters from the luxury lodges they now have.

As well as at least one traveller family group who seemed to be living there permanently there was a group turned up... ( 1 x transit van 2 x camper vans 1 x caravan multiple adults kids and dogs) all day ... music at full blast drinking all day dogs running freely and fouling where they want... drunk in transit drives off to toilet then wheelspins at speed across loose gravel back to group looking for wallet before dissapearing for a few hours... others left ther were screaming and shouting and fighting with each other before another drunk and a woman drove off at speed before transit drunk returned and built a bonfire with flames higher than their vans ans caravans .

Great stay great relaxation, lovely lake walk.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Love this site, it's simple and quiet, lovely to relax and let the kids burn off energy, there are no play areas or anything but tbh for the cost it's great it gets the kids exploring and using imagination to keep occupied.

Disliked Some work being done/improvements that seem to have cause confusion between what was The willows and what is now Noah's retreat. Everything says ask for John but it's apparently not John

Would not recommend this site as facilities not upto par

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked A very charming place, peace and quiet, well-kept plot/camping site next to it, a small lake and plenty of paths, if you feel like hiking, I recommend it. I will only add that the luxury lodges( for rent ) there are also worth attention and I am wondering whether next time, instead of taking a tent, I will rent one.

Disliked the directions given do not match the address at all (you have a camping site and you drive for another 3-4 minutes and theoretically you end up between two fields. a place where you can get water/get rid of waste from the camper and wash the dishes, they are not marked at all, so it is difficult to locate them yourself, if it is corrected, everything will be 100% ++

Stayed here a lot. Always go back. Beautiful surroundings. So quiet.

Local attractions

Get your coastal fix in Cleethorpes (20 minutes’ drive). The beach rents out single or double kayaks and paddleboards for those wanting to get out on the water and there’s a boating lake if you’d rather keep your paddles to a pedalo. Cleethorpes Country Park (20 minutes) is another popular spot, for cycles especially. Perhaps you’d like to inject a bit of history or education into your trip. One easy way to do this is by taking a ride on one of the UK’s oldest coastal miniature railways, the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway (20 minutes). Another is with a visit to Grimsby’s (15 minutes) minster and fishing heritage centre. Then, there’s the museum of rural life at the six-sail Waltham Windmill (five minutes) too. Lemurs, chameleons and meerkats, anyone? Kids can learn how to feed the zoo animals from the keepers at Jungle Zoo (20 minutes), a small family-run zoo.
