  • Small dog-friendly site surrounded by the Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to Cleethorpes’ beach, boating lake and country park
  • Barbecues and firepits welcome; five minutes’ drive to shops and pubs
Looking for some downtime in pretty Lincolnshire? Noah’s Retreat will soon have you building barbecues or dabbling in watersports on the Lincolnshire coast 20 minutes’ drive away. The small, friendly Laceby site is 15 minutes’ drive from Grimsby and 20 minutes from Cleethorpes and welcomes dogs and families. There’s plenty of countryside around Noah’s Retreat for walking your little furry companions, and they’re sure to be well pleased with the leftovers you wind up with after your barbecues. The keen golfers among you might want to get out on the golf course next door. Come nightfall, rustle up a firepit if you’d like (or get yourself any early night for the next day’s adventures). If you’d like something tasty to much on around the pit, there are shops in Waltham five minutes’ drive away. And if you’d like to let someone else sort out your dinner for you, there’s also a bunch of takeaways, pubs and restaurants within five minutes’ drive of Noah’s Retreat. There are handy public transport links in the towns too.

Liked: Lovely quiet site, spacious level pitches. Able to choose pitch on first come basis. We found the shower/toilet block clean at all times.

Disliked: Nowhere to empty waste water?? and the Elsan point was too high to lift the carrier up.

Liked: The pitch was level.

Disliked: We booked a gravel pitch with ehu, but when we arrived, there were none. Only on the grass pitches. Luckily the weather was dry. We were not shown where anything was either.

Expensive for what we booked.

From the manager: I'm sorry to hear you were not happy with your pitch. The pitch type you booked can be grass or gravel or a mixture of both. Unfortunately as it was a busy weekend we didn't have any gravel-only pitches available. The ground was dry for your vehicle, and you were given access to electric hookup, as requested.
We are always happy to show guests around the site or provide information if asked.

Powered grass campervan site

Liked: nothing

Disliked: Everything. Site not as shown by current pictures on pitch up. the lakeside pitches are all now luxury lodges. The touring part of the site is a field adjacent now. Also the facilities were limited and not very clean.
Also there was no wifi and mobile phone reception was terrible....

From the manager: I'm sorry to hear you were not happy with your stay, however please note that all our current photographs of the site are accurate. You may have seen photographs from older customer reviews when we used to have lakeside pitches. The lakeside has now been developed for our lodges, but guests are still welcome to walk around the lake.
You visited on a weekend when we were fully booked and had a large number of guests using the facilities. We clean these regularly, however with so many people using them they may not have appeared as pristine as usual. We were not made aware of any cleanliness issues, and if we had have been we would have rectified them.
We are in a rural area so wifi and phone reception is not always 100%.

Facilities were so clean and catered for disabled

Powered grass motorhome site

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Site now focusing on lodges. All pitches around lake are taken by lodges and the field is also being prepared for lodges.
Fresh water was from a hose pipe lying on ground. Elsan disposal flushing has been disconnected and not maintained. Advised to empty grey waste down elsan point.
EHU using "doublers" to connect 4 vans into 2 points.
We cut our stay short, no staff around when we came to checkout.
We have stayed here previously and had really enjoyed it. I assume that eventually will become lodges only.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: The lodges are on a separate part of our site, and this doesn't affect the touring field.
There are several fresh water supplies on site, it's not a hosepipe.
All our electric hookup points are safe and follow regulations.
We have staff on site who are not always visible. There is a big sign next to the office with the park phone number if no one is around.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: Couldn't stay as tent was broke. It's a nice flat ground, two toilets and a shower (ladies). Nothing much around it but you could travel by car (didn't see any pavements on nearby roads) to get to amenities. Not far from Cleethorpes. It's great for your kids to run around.

Local attractions

Get your coastal fix in Cleethorpes (20 minutes’ drive). The beach rents out single or double kayaks and paddleboards for those wanting to get out on the water and there’s a boating lake if you’d rather keep your paddles to a pedalo. Cleethorpes Country Park (20 minutes) is another popular spot, for cycles especially. Perhaps you’d like to inject a bit of history or education into your trip. One easy way to do this is by taking a ride on one of the UK’s oldest coastal miniature railways, the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway (20 minutes). Another is with a visit to Grimsby’s (15 minutes) minster and fishing heritage centre. Then, there’s the museum of rural life at the six-sail Waltham Windmill (five minutes) too. Lemurs, chameleons and meerkats, anyone? Kids can learn how to feed the zoo animals from the keepers at Jungle Zoo (20 minutes), a small family-run zoo.
