  • Quiet adults-only park among Lincolnshire farmland; dogs allowed
  • A 20-minute drive from beaches at Skegness and Mablethorpe
  • Half a mile from the village pub and shop
A warm and friendly welcome awaits at The Nurseries Caravan Park, an adults-only, dog-friendly park in a semi-rural setting in Lincolnshire. Set at the end of a quiet lane and surrounded by farmland, this site is well-placed for relaxing breaks both in the Lincolnshire countryside and by the sea. Coastal trips are particularly easily arranged at Skegness or Mablethorpe, both of which can be reached in about a 20-minute drive. The site is located in the village of Mumby near Alford, and there's a pub and shop about half a mile away on foot or by car (a few last-minute essentials are also available to buy on site). Facilities here include spotless men's and women's toilets and showers, one of which is suitable for people with reduced mobility. There is also a laundry room, a freezer for ice etc., a food preparation area and a separate washing-up sink. Adjacent to the facilities block, there is also a chemical waste disposal point for tourers. Handily, the site has an on-site café for tasty snacks and daily essentials. The Nurseries Caravan Park is very pet-friendly, and there is plenty of safe off-site dog walking to be had in the surrounding area for exploration with your four-legged friend.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The warden was helpful when we arrived we had a hose pipe problem and he helped us with that

Disliked: Terrible facilities only one ladies shower was working. Men’s toilets only one shower head for two showers, sinks badly blocked and daily checks and cleaning did not appear to have been done. Ground even though hard standing had no drainage so was like being in a bog all week, several vehicles had to be towed out. Major pot holes in the drive to the campsite not good for car or caravan. Cafe not open all week even though it is advertised. Was not happy at all came home a day early and will never go back or recommend that site.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Please see our response below; * A shower was not working as it was identified that a guest had turned off the power to it. * There was only one showerhead because someone had stolen them! As soon as these problems were found they were rectified, we had 2 shower heads stolen and replaced within 24 hours. *The facilities are indeed cleaned every day, we have many good reviews regarding the cleanliness of our facilities. The one blocked sink was cleared, there was a toilet that had been blocked and was also cleared as soon as we discovered it (within hours). * Two small campervans had to be towed from a grass pitch. (These pitches had been closed off but so as not to disappoint the guests we allowed them to stay explaining the situation to said guests) * The ”Drive” is owned and maintained by East Lindsey District Council, it is highways and the responsibility of the local authority. We have made regular reports to the council and have asked for a meeting with them, they are logged on Fix My Street. *New operators will soon have the café back running, apologies for any inconvenience. We have spoken to the warden about your issues, and he confirms that he did have to speak with you about a different matter during your stay. He spoke to you on departure day, and unfortunately, you did not raise any issues with him. We are also informed that you were given a free pitch upgrade and the warden helped you with some issues you had with your van, and also helped your friend start a car when he had problems. Unfortunately, we have had some of the wettest weather on record resulting in a high water table which is completely beyond our control. We hope this explanation answers your queries Kind Regards Webb Holiday Parks

Disliked: Number of dogs on the site always barking, did get a bit muddy but thats the weather at the moment, Showers didnt have much water pressure. Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss, but there was goo mobile signal.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we appreciate your comments and understanding. Unfortunately, there was an issue with another guest's dog which we did try our best to rectify. We are pleased this didn't completely spoil your time with us. The Wi-Fi is a bit 'hit and miss' when the weather is bad hence why we don't make a charge for it. We really feel for everyone who suffered the bad weather this week and look forward to welcoming you back again!

Local attractions

The small seaside town of Sutton on Sea (15 minutes' drive) is an excellent place to start exploring the Lincolnshire coast, with its attractive seafront, pretty public gardens and spectacular natural beach. The place feels more like a village than a town and is a world away from the bright lights and buzzing arcades of similarly nearby Skegness and Mablethorpe (both 20 minutes), both of which are also well worth visiting in their own right. For a change of scene, you could continue along the coast to the Seal Sanctuary (20 minutes), where sick and wounded sea creatures are nursed back to full health, or head inland instead to the National Trust property of Gunby Hall (15 minutes), a handsome 1700s country house with Victorian walled gardens. If you're happy to head slightly further afield, you could sample local ales at Batemans Brewery (25 minutes), plan jaunts to traditional market towns like Louth (35 minutes), a famed foodie hotspot, or leave the countryside behind to visit the cathedral city of Lincoln (an hour) and its pretty medieval streets.
