What customers say
A peaceful, back-to-basics campsite offering excellent value. Guests praise the friendly, helpful owners, ample space, and lovely rural setting. Facilities are basic but functional, with portaloos and a shower available. The on-site farm shop is a convenient addition. Some minor concerns were raised regarding cleanliness of facilities during busy periods and the condition of the grass, though management is responsive. Ideal for those seeking a quiet, no-frills escape.

Bell tent (basic, six person)
Liked .
Disliked I hate having to complain but me and my partner booked to stay here in a bell tent and it couldn’t have gone more wrong. The tent wasn’t clean and had stains on the rug, there was mouldy and food out of date over a year. I had messaged the owner to let her know we could not complete our stay and she has been very rude replying back.

From the manager: Hello well we know you as you have been putting your cruel and rude comments on my text today. You booked a £22 basic bell tent which was furnished with a new carpet. You have said it is smelly and don’t like our eco friendly longer grass around the sides. This is government guided to attract butterflies, ladybirds and other friendly bugs. Nearly all our tents are new and we endeavour to maintain them, we spray with antibacterial and sweep interiors as it is difficult to take hoovers over fields. So as it is harvest season there may be a few strands of hay left. You have been cruel and rude with your texts and now threatening. How heartbreaking it is to have just one person use your facilities and go rife with their photographic evidence in order to try and topple all your hard work, strife and sweat and tears. You have just made me very strong and no matter what you do I know we have good campers who enjoy this campsite who like what what we do. Please think about your comments and enjoy your £22 refund. Hope you have a wonderful life

Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)
Liked Lots of space, and plenty of options for where to pitch up. Facilities are basic (as stated). It's a field, with some portaloos and a shower hut.

Very good value for money with a friendly and helpful owner.
Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)
Liked The farmer was extremely friendly and helpful. Large field which was great for the large group I was involved with. Well stocked farm shop just across the road from the field. Very good value for money.
Disliked Not grass as advertised but extremely tough sharp stubble( the farmer hired out paddling pools and everyone that was hired got punctured by the stubble). Only one shower for such a large field. Probably due to extremely hot weather but the three porta loos that were provided were pretty fragrant.

Field camp site and small holding not ideal if you are OCD.
Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)
Liked Nice scenic rural location with plenty of wide open space on site. Two very friendly goats and two very friendly miniature ponies in petting area.
Disliked The very dry spiky wild grass was not comfortable (very dry weather), I did not use but can be a long walk to "porta loos" depending on where you are pitched (good idea to bring your own toilet tent if you don't have a camper van with a toilet), the shop area was run down and in a state of disarray but functional if you really need essentials, the animal petting area cramped and limited. No WiFi but I did not need it.

Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)
Liked This is a working farm and Richard the farmer and his wife who runs the small onsite farm shop are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
Lots of fresh goods and well stocked fridges and freezer in the shop brilliant prices and very tasty farm produce and food
Disliked Portaloo smells but cannot really be helped in the heat, otherwise what’s not to dislike

Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)
Liked From the moment the camp was booked for us and our members everything was taken care of.
Even a phone call as the weather was going to be hot asking if we wanted drinks getting in.
The site is amazing. Very peaceful, and so much room. Loved the hot shower on site and the fact nothing we wanted was too much trouble.
It is a very basic (not in a bad way ) camp it is a delightful place where if you want to get a way and forget the world you can easily
Disliked The only real thing we can say is the sign to the camp isn't clear. How ever that is a very very very minor point as the farm is next to it so still easy to find

Non-electric grass pitch (pet friendly)
Liked The site was peaceful and easy to get to, the owner was great and friendly, made our trip a lot easier with having the standpipe on site to be able to fill up the water on the van. We didn’t need to use the facilities on site eg toilets as we have all that in our van but were told clearly what was available and where when we arrived
