Van de manager: Well obviously lots of people do like the site - the grass round the bell tents is there to attract butterflies and small insects which is encouraged by the government just so you know!!! We don’t purport to be the Ritz of the campsites just a budget site. I object to your comments about toilets and shower, they are cleaned daily and if everyone did their bit after using them then that would make things nicer for everyone, unfortunately most of the people who use them don’t share my view. So sorry it’s not to your taste so we wont be seeing you again? Bye-bye

Ik was blij met The signs telling people to pick up their dog poo and put it in the bin.... followed by big signs telling campers there are no bins on site and to take rubbish away with you. They gave us a laugh. So do people take their dog poo home with them too???

Ik was niet blij met Disguarded caravans burried in overgrown surroundings. No toilets or shower as advertised.
Couldn't even find the farm shop to check in..
We didn't stay. Looked around and then left.

Van de manager: So anonymous- yes dog poo should be taken away! As should rubbish! Look at Pitchups terms. Disguarded caravans? Do you mean discarded? You are completely wrong - there is one van which has been standing for a while because the owner has moved certainly not ‘discarded’ and we choose not to mow around it until he comes to pick up. Send me your name and address and I will gladly refund. Why put such a ghastly review when you didn’t even come to talk to us. Toilets are portaloos as advertised and there is a small shower shed. Shop is over the road. Such negativity and fierce impulse to spout nastiness !!! Please look before you leap as they say, zip lips before you know things

Ik was blij met Close to wild camping really! Choose your own pitch and enjoy. I liked the relaxed pace, the walks in quiet farming area and the quirkiness of the site. Was met at check in with friendly greeting and would come again.

Ik was blij met The host was very friendly. The site was as expected. Brilliant place for the kids. Really nice traditional camp site.

Ik was blij met Very quiet. Easy check in and friendly staff in the farm shop. Plenty of room for the children to run around and play ball games.

Ik was niet blij met Very very basic facilities. Portaloos had no running water. There was a shower on site but it appeared to be the warden's personal shower with soap and razor left behind which was off putting. No rubbish bins. Only one water point which at times was redirected to the warden's caravan so we couldn't use.

Van de manager: We don’t purport to be the ritz of campsites, we are a budget site as your payment reflects - £22 for basic bell tents, £12 non electric. One water point is all that is needed. Apologies that one guest left razors and soap which has been removed. We do not have to provide rubbish bins. Sorry you didn’t have a nice time many more do!!!!!

Van de manager: The last comment is wrong, there is now a washstand with 2 bowls. Not recommending or coming back? Why bother to put a review? You know what my mother always said? - if you can’t say something positive don’t say anything at all. We are relatively new and still learning we need positive criticism not not negativity

Ik was blij met With great views, a peaceful location, a good value Farm shop and really friendly owners, this is a great no frills good value site.

Ik was niet blij met I hate having to complain but me and my partner booked to stay here in a bell tent and it couldn’t have gone more wrong. The tent wasn’t clean and had stains on the rug, there was mouldy and food out of date over a year. I had messaged the owner to let her know we could not complete our stay and she has been very rude replying back.

Van de manager: Hello well we know you as you have been putting your cruel and rude comments on my text today. You booked a £22 basic bell tent which was furnished with a new carpet. You have said it is smelly and don’t like our eco friendly longer grass around the sides. This is government guided to attract butterflies, ladybirds and other friendly bugs. Nearly all our tents are new and we endeavour to maintain them, we spray with antibacterial and sweep interiors as it is difficult to take hoovers over fields. So as it is harvest season there may be a few strands of hay left. You have been cruel and rude with your texts and now threatening. How heartbreaking it is to have just one person use your facilities and go rife with their photographic evidence in order to try and topple all your hard work, strife and sweat and tears. You have just made me very strong and no matter what you do I know we have good campers who enjoy this campsite who like what what we do. Please think about your comments and enjoy your £22 refund. Hope you have a wonderful life
