  • Peaceful pitches at a 26-acre estate 10 minutes' drive from Rugby
  • Foxton Locks 25 minutes' drive; farm shop and pub 10 minutes' walk
  • Dog-friendly site a short drive from the M1/M6 junction
Whether you’re stopping over to break your journey on the nearby motorways or settling in for a few days of outdoor adventures, Catthorpe Towers Camping has a lot to offer. Handily located on the Leicestershire-Warwickshire border just a few minutes’ drive from the point where the M1 meets the M6, this family-friendly and dog-friendly site makes a great base for an outdoor break. As well as being handily placed for travels, this site is also well located for a good range of days out, from farmyard fun and high ropes trails for families to canalside walks and historic sights for grownup guests. A pub and a farm shop/café are within 10 minutes’ walk too – good news for both guests who’d like to eat out and those who’d rather source supplies for a barbecue back at base. Supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways are 10 minutes’ drive away in Lutterworth or Rugby. Back on site, you’ll be able to choose whichever pitch you like the look of – and there are plenty of lovely spots to pick from at this site, which is part of the 26-acre Catthorpe Manor Estate. The south-facing pitching field has lovely views over the surrounding countryside and access to facilities including toilets and a washing-up area.

What customers say

This new campsite offers spacious pitches with lovely views and an on-site farm shop and cafe. While some guests found facilities limited and the terrain hilly, the manager notes the site is developing and feedback is being used to improve. Recent guests enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and proximity to a village pub, though noise from nearby events and limited hot water at the washing-up station were noted. Showers are available, but not always conveniently located.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked Massive site in nice surroundings
Very peaceful and dark
Clean toilet area close to the pitch
Dishwashing sink with very hot water close to the pitches

Disliked There is only currently one electricity box for about 5 hook ups so potentially vehicles could end up very close to each other depending on length of your own cable. We were luckily only one of two vans using the hook up so we could park far enough away to give each other privacy.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Not many people due to starting out
Farm shop within about 5 minutes drive (not opposite this campsite)
A freezer was available too put my ice packs
My son enjoyed visiting the ponies in the field

Disliked A long walk to facilities
Washing up station was outside and difficult to get consistent hot water
Contact via telephone when arrived as it was not clear. A telephone message would help.
Busy motorways nearby so was very noisy at all times and effected our sleep.
We paid extra for showers but I was not able to leave my son due to distance and it was too far for him to go on his own (but within area). Therefore this was a waste of money.
Clearer signage would help as met by foreign signs (due to being part of Latvian trust) which was confusing
Due to lack of people, was quite isolating which at times was disconcerting.
The field was quite uneven and so difficult to find an even place to camp. We could have gone to the bottom of the field but this would have been a very long walk for toilets etc.

From the manager: Hi!

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review!

I just wanted to clear up a couple of quick things to help out future guests:

Showers: We do have shower facilities available! They aren't located right in the field itself, but they're just around the corner. We send all the details, including links and directions, straight to your email.

Check-in: There’s no need to call us when you arrive, as all the info you need is in that same confirmation email. That said, we're always around and happy to help direct you if you ever get stuck!

Thanks again for staying with us, and we hope to see you again soon!

It was a brilliant stay here, me and my daughter loved it here.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked friendly people. Good pub in the village.

Disliked There was a lot of noise from a wedding at the nearby manor. And limited washing facilities (no showers or washing up area)

From the manager: Hi, Emma!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re so glad you enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and got to experience our great local village pub!

We are really sorry to hear that noise from the nearby manor’s wedding disrupted your stay. We completely understand how frustrating unwanted noise can be when you’re looking to unwind and we will try to ensure in the future if any events are happening outdoors near the Manor House, not to take any bookings for the campsite.

Regarding our facilities, we just wanted to clarify for future readers that we do have a dedicated washing-up area available on-site for all guests.
Additionally, while showers aren't included as standard to keep base rates lower, private shower slots can be easily added on during the booking process. We're sorry if this wasn't clear in the description of our campsite!

Thank you again for your feedback, as it helps us make sure information is as clear as possible for everyone. Safe travels on your next camping trip!

Best regards,
Ance

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch

Liked A huge eerie space and a lovely manor

Disliked It is not a campsite really. Though it has a lot of potential to become that.
There are toilets, but for just being a big field the price of £30 with electricity is about double of what you would expect to pay.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi,

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we’re so glad you enjoyed the lovely setting of the nearby manor!

As we only opened our campsite a few weeks ago, we are currently trialing our setup to learn exactly what our guests need and what additions will help make this a truly great place to stay. We really appreciate your comment about the site having potential—everything is very much a work in progress, and feedback like yours is super helpful as we grow!

To keep the atmosphere spacious and uncrowded, we offer a £25 base pitch (which includes toilet facilities, drinking water, and washing-up areas) with an optional £5 for electric hook-up. We benchmarked this against regional standards for electric pitches, but we completely understand that every camper looks for different amenities.

Thank you again for being one of our very first guests and for helping us shape the future of our site. We wish you all the best on your travels!

Warm regards,
Ance

Local attractions

Country walks or bike rides part of your plan? You’ll have plenty of lovely spots to choose from. Foxton Locks (25 minutes’ drive) on the Grand Union Canal is a popular spot for a stroll – it’s the longest and steepest staircase of locks in the UK (and has a good waterside pub too). Hillmorton Locks (10 minutes) is another local favourite, or you could head to Draycote Water (25 minutes), which has watersports as well as a flat lakeside path for walks and cycling. If you’re after something more adventurous, head to the high ropes of Go Ape Coventry (25 minutes) or the activities of Armourgeddon Tank Driving (20 minutes) – including a unique chance to try out tank paintballing. For a gentler outing, take the kids to meet the animals at Mini Meadows Farm (20 minutes). Dipping into local history and culture, you may like to follow the trail around Naseby Battlefield (20 minutes), see the art collection and other displays at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum (15 minutes) or stroll around Cottesbrooke Hall & Gardens (half an hour).
