What customers say
This is a pub-based campsite with a focus on friendly staff and good food, offering electric hook-ups and water at pitches. Many praise the food and atmosphere of the pub, with some recent reviews mentioning ongoing improvements. However, toilet and shower facilities receive mixed feedback, with some finding them dated, unclean, or insufficient, particularly overnight. The site's upkeep and tidiness are also noted as areas for improvement by some visitors.

Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Nice open space. Lots of room. Bus stop outside. Easy to find.
Disliked Run down. Very tired. Scruffy. No toilet access. Shower - well didnt even attempt it ! Very poor washing up facilities. No food at pub. Very sad indeed. It's a shame really, as could be lovely. Lots of traffic noise. Am afraid Pitch - up got it wrong this time!

It was akin to being parked on wasteland (albeit with power and water)
Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Closeness to the town.
Disliked Very run down and the pictures are not a true reflection of the site today.
Bins overflowing.
Rubbish left on pitches.
Beer barrels, broken chairs, general waste around the elsan point.
Needs a lot of love to bring it back to where it should be.
No chef in the pub.
No seating in the pub beer garden!
I heard that the site is being redeveloped with a housing and a supermarket so I can see why the above has happened.
I would close the site now!

Upset
Electric grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Our 2nd time we have been to Barons cross, and was told that as from this November they have been given a compulsory order to leave as the owner has sold the land to make way for housing, it was very upsetting for the staff and for all that use the camping.
Disliked Nothing you can say

Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Perfect little place to pitch, a big area/field behind and connected to a nice little pub. I stayed in a car camper and had no issues. The owners are super nice, welcoming and accommodating. Great food as well at the pub. Didn’t use the shower but the toilet and wash room was available as long as I was awake. Not sure if it’s accessible 24/7.
