Plant down in an organic spelt field at Moreton Farm Field Camping. This family-run pop-up site is a 15-minute walk into the centre of Moreton-in-Marsh and a sturdy base to explore the North Cotswolds, whether you’re planning on cycling, walking or canoeing your way around the lakeside villages or if you'd rather dine in cutesy eateries, browse art galleries or dive into the antique stores in the local town. With a wealth of markets, cafés, pubs, supermarkets and shops in Moreton-in-Marsh within 15 minutes’ walk, it’s likely that foodies will find a good fix from this site. The site is also nicely connected to bigger cities such as Oxford (50 minutes by train from Moreton-in-Marsh). The surrounding characterful Cotswolds towns are easy to reach, including as Stow-on-the-Wold (10 minutes’ drive), Bourton-on-the-Water (15 minutes) and Chipping Campden (15 minutes). Leave the car behind if you wish, as there are good bus links all around and no shortage of walking or cycling routes, including route 48 and 442 running through Moreton-in-Marsh. Unwind and refuel with a barbecue on site. Things are kept nicely straightforward here with portable toilets and non-potable water from an IBC tank – simple to boil if you’re planning on drinking it. To ensure the pretty spelt field is kept in ship shape, guests take litter home (or dispose of it responsibly), as there’s no refuse disposal on site.
