  • Spacious and dog-friendly 12-acre site in the Derbyshire Dales
  • A 15-minute drive to Ashbourne; 40 minutes to Chatsworth Estate
  • Shop and fishing ponds on site
Grab your walking boots, your fishing kit and your dog and get set for some relaxing time in the Derbyshire Dales at Blackbrook Lodge Camping and Caravanning, between the villages of Turnditch and Brailsford. This 12-acre site is well placed for walks and other outdoor activities – the edge of the Peak District National Park is about 20 minutes’ drive away, you can pick up the traffic-free Tissington Trail about 15 minutes away and there’s a good collection of watersports to be had at Carsington Water, 10 minutes away. And the fishing? Well, that’s right there where you’re staying – this site has both a main fishing lake and two ponds filled with carp for lazy days by the water. Away from the ponds, the main camping field is set back from the road and has space for kids to run around freely. Other facilities on site include a small shop for essentials, a washing-up area, toilets and hot showers that are available 24 hours a day. There are several pubs and restaurants within 10 minutes’ drive to keep the tribe fed, or you’re welcome to bring along a barbecue. If you go for the latter option, there’s a farm shop about 10 minutes’ drive away for delicious local goodies, and it’s the same distance to a supermarket for any other essentials. Please note that chocks or levellers may be needed.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely quite sure with all amenities toilets /shower and little onsite shop ,even though you are close to road it is not that noticeable and fairly quiet ,just be weary of satnav postcode as it sent us past site and had to turn around further down lane and unfortunately for us managed to clip back end of van

Disliked: Some of the pitches are very steep so you will need plenty off block to level van and to us we were little uncomfortable with the front being so high of ground Maybe little not somewhere on booking page suggesting to take some extra blocks as some pitches can need them we were lucky as there were some breeze block’s lying around so made do

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Very friendly and helpful on arrival. Even lent us an extension cable for the electrics. Pitches are massive with Lots of space and not on top of each other. Dogs are welcome and a nice walk out the back. Nice touch with the dog hose by the toilet block too to clean off your furry friends.

Disliked: Toilet and showers are clean but a bit dated. Could do with more facilities during busy times as men’s toilets were very busy.
