What customers say
This campsite offers an excellent location, ideal for walkers, with stunning views and convenient access to numerous trails. Reviewers frequently praised the friendly and helpful staff, along with the modern and clean facilities, particularly the new shower blocks. On-site amenities like the cafe and shop were also highly regarded. While most guests had a positive experience, some noted that pitches could be close together, and a few mentioned the old toilet block was dated, though a new one is under development.

Disliked No where to dump grey waste. Was told to let it run out in the hard standing pitch. I bucketed it to the chemical waste area

Great walker’s base that’s also a top site with great facilities
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Very pretty site with great facilities and a walkers paradise. We camped in a van with awning and had a friendly welcome with clear instructions. We used the cafe on site on our final morning and were served a great breakfast which we found good value for locally sourced produce. Toilets and shower blocks are nice particularly if you can get one of the wet rooms. For me toilets were always empty (female). My husband did sometimes have to queue due to some DofE groups. Van pitches are on the small side and had we had another van next to us our awning would have almost been touching theirs. Luckily we didn’t so got to enjoy the views when on site and we enjoy the walks as plenty of options. It’s a walkers site and was pretty much on the wet day we stayed in. Will return hopefully when the sun shines!
Disliked The site is on a slope- towards the cafe- so as new van owners we had no levellers so did roll in the night but only minor as the site is very peaceful at night so slept well.

Absolute Gem of a campsite :-)
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The owners of this site are genuinely lovely people, really welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. It was nice to just be asked how our stay was and if we slept ok. You can tell that Andy and Gill genuinely care about what they do.
The site itself is an absolute gem, georgeous location and really spacious pitches. Theres a great little games room with pool / air hockey table, table tennis, dartboard, table football and family board games. Theres a fridge and kettle for shared use which was a bonus, and this is all in with the price. We now have oir new favourite campsite and will be booking again soon.
The washrooms were kept pristine condition, which is always a bonus and there are plenty of sinks with hot water to do the pots.
You can also hire fire pits and enjoy a campfire.
Just a few minute walk either direction from the site, and there are 2 nice places to eat and grab a drink and for those that like a hike, you can do a full roundtrip from the site, up past Mam Tor and down into castleton and back.
For what is a fairly new site, we were really impressed.
Disliked There wasnt anything to dislike. Great site
