Absolute Gem of a campsite :-)
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked The owners of this site are genuinely lovely people, really welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. It was nice to just be asked how our stay was and if we slept ok. You can tell that Andy and Gill genuinely care about what they do.
The site itself is an absolute gem, georgeous location and really spacious pitches. Theres a great little games room with pool / air hockey table, table tennis, dartboard, table football and family board games. Theres a fridge and kettle for shared use which was a bonus, and this is all in with the price. We now have oir new favourite campsite and will be booking again soon.
The washrooms were kept pristine condition, which is always a bonus and there are plenty of sinks with hot water to do the pots.
You can also hire fire pits and enjoy a campfire.
Just a few minute walk either direction from the site, and there are 2 nice places to eat and grab a drink and for those that like a hike, you can do a full roundtrip from the site, up past Mam Tor and down into castleton and back.
For what is a fairly new site, we were really impressed.

Great site, lots of green space for tent pitches, lovely showers
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Perfect location for trail walking and fabulous shower block, which I never had to queue/wait for. Handy for train station and enjoyed a nearby pub. The older shower block was still perfectly functional.
Disliked Hardstanding pitches a little close to neighbouring pitches. Never found the general store open.

Disliked The main shower/toilet block whilst lovely and modern is not enough - they could do with at least another one just as big.

Excellent site with clean facilities and friendly staff.
Grouse non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Facilities and position were excellent. Some of the best wash/toilet/shower facilities I have found at a campsite. Also had plug sockets for charging. Cafe was fab. Pizzas were great, staff friendly. Nr walks and train station and pubs on the door step. Scenery stunning. Local pub also did gluten free beer and gluten free pizza was also available so that is always an excellent thing for celiacs. Quietened down fairly quickly at night and noise levels were not even slightly an issue for sleeping.
Disliked Was unaware that there was no cars on camping field, if I'd have known I'd have bought a trolley to carry the tent etc across the grass further to find a pitch that was a little more level. Cars off the grass isn't a bad thing necessarily because it makes the surroundings look nicer and safer for kids But it's just a matter of carrying everything.

We would return! Good amenities and walks available.
Sparrowhawk non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Amenities onsite were great. Cafe, themed evening food, and a brand new set of washrooms. However, the gem was the old washrooms! Very few people were using them, but they were perfectly serviceable, so it was much more pleasant to use those facilities!
Staff were hardworking, but once you spoke to them they were friendly and helpful.
