Great place, great views. Friendly owners. Pub and food really nice. Two log burners to keep you toasty on a chill evening. Lovely shower and look block with u detfloor heating and no hidden extras Staff helpful. Will be going back and have already recommended to friends. WiFi in the pub only but that was fine fir us. We had no TV reception on one of the brand new pitches but it is good elsewhere apparently.

Very clean and well maintained site. Close to the High peak Trail ideal for walking and cycling. The toilet block was clean and warm. The Duke of York pub which is next to the site is an excellent place for good quality food at a reasonable price. The staff were extremely helpful when we arrived and throughout our stay.

    Disliked:

No Wi-fi but we had very good mobile phone signal on BT. Close to busy main road but was not a major issue.

From the manager...

Thank you for the review. We are pleased to hear your positive comments of both the facilities and the customer service :) . There is Free WiFi available in the pub (no code just enter your info etc) if needed but good to hear the phone signal was good! Bridget, Gary & Team

Men’s ablution block was warm, clean & tidy, hygienic and well maintained.
Raised toilet waste disposal point made it easy to empty cassette without splash back.
Hard stand in very good condition, depth and width of generous size so no problems in parking 7.5m motorhomes.

Magnificent countryside views from the all pitches & handstands.

Eating at the onsite pub & restaurant is a must, great food by South African chef, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff made the visit a memorable occasion.

Highly recommend Sunday carvery, superb meats and veggies galor very tasty.

No Motorhome grey waste emptying point (we have a fixed onboard tank so really need a drain we can pull alongside).

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Good to hear you enjoyed the stay and we do take note of the Grey Waste comment. We plan to look at trying to resolve that in the coming months. Bridget, Gary & Team

This site is a little gem.... fantastic panoramic views, great walks and a dog friendly pub that serves excellent meals.
All the staff made us feel really welcome from the start. The site it's self was excellent, with a modern toilet block which is heated for the winter months , free showers... perfect.
Buxton is only 6 miles from the site which took us around 2 hours to walk to, but it's only 10mins in the car.. and what a lovely place it is... plenty of shops.... bars.. and eating places too.. well recommended for a visit.. the cheddar cheese was one of our favourite pubs.... dog friendly too.
The duke of york camping and touring site was excellent... 5 stars....and if you do visit try the food in the pub, you will not be disappointed.......
This is one site we will definitely be coming back to.

The spotlessly clean and so warm toilets and showers, as well as the delicious food served in the pub.

    Disliked:

The worrying lack of lights or people around when we arrived at 5.30 pm ( due apparently to me not receiving a voicemail before I set off requesting we arrived either before 3pm or after 6 pm)

From the manager...

Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to us - the first time out in a motorhome I believe? We are pleased to hear that you found the amenities clean and warm. Our telephone call to you was made the day before your arrival with a message to say that if you couldn't arrive before 3pm or after 6pm (ie during the pub open hours) then to let us know so that we could arrange to meet you out of hours and give you access to the site and the pitch. We are sorry you didn't pick up the call but we did try..... Hopefully you will be able to visit us again in the future. Regards Bridget, Gary & Team.
