  • Well-equipped Derbyshire touring site with easy access from the A517
  • A 10-minute drive to Ashbourne and the edge of the Peak District
  • Dog-friendly site a mile from Hulland Ward's village pub and farm shop
Parking up for the Peak District? Take your tourer off to Ashbourne Touring and Camping Park, a well-equipped park in a handy spot just off the A517 a mile from the village of Hulland Ward. Easy access from the main road means it’s nice and straightforward to get set up at this Derbyshire site – and that location also means you’ll be handily close to the village’s pub and farm shop (a useful source of supplies for your barbecue back at base). Bus services from the stop just outside can take you into nearby Ashbourne – or you can drive over there in about 10 minutes. In fact, everything here has been designed to make life nice and easy for guests, with well-kept ample toilet and shower facilities, a chemical disposal area, a washing-up area and a launderette provided. Dogs are welcome to join you on site as long as they're well behaved. The wifi service provided is also likely to come in handy, given that you'll probably want to plan lots of days out around the area. The edge of the Peak District National Park is about 10 minutes' drive away, as is the start of the traffic-free Tissington Trail, so you'll be in a good position for getting out to explore the lovely landscapes. And there are plenty of other attractions around too, including Alton Towers and the Chatsworth estate.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We enjoyed the tranquility of the site and the pathways that were mowed for walks.
Liked the gap between pitches. Deep sinks for washing up and bowls also provided.
The children’s play area was spacious with room for ball games and nicely positioned.
Facilities were clean and there was always enough loo paper. Laundry room.

Disliked Didn’t find recycling.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Cheaper than most sites we have used. Beautiful surroundings and very quiet when we stayed.

Disliked No shelf and only one hook in each shower. I think the showers would struggle to serve a full campsite. We could not find recycling facilities.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked What a great place to stay. Very clean and tidy site and all facilities were spotlessly clean. It is surrounded by lovely woodland. This was our first time staying on a touring and camping site and Steve was especially helpful and had lots of information for our questions. Thank you to all the staff. We will not hesitate in recommending Ashbourne Touring and Camping Park.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Easy access from main Rd to site entrance. A big smiling welcome from Steve and his wife on entry to the booking office.
Steve showed us to pitch no. 4, 20 yards from the office. Setup was easy ish for a first time outing with this new van, (last did this 30 yrs ago 😅) good 16Amp lecky supply. Beautiful view across the fields watching the sun go down
Site is very well maintained, and great amenities, showers, toilets, disposal point etc. Wifi was very intermittent at best, but not a priority, looking to book again in a few weeks.

Disliked Tap issue, high pressure caused the pipe on the tap to blow off drenching me numerous times, took it off in the end, spoke to Steve about it and he said he would replace it asap.

Clearly allocated pitch sizes Friendly and helpful staff…
