We would definitely return during the weekend and/or off-peak times.
Electric grass pitch
Liked Great facilities. Friendly staff. Great location, with lots to do via walk and/or transport close by. Nice views. £5 extra for later check-out at 4pm is a bargain. Extra camper toilets near field were a nice touch. Washers and dryer are a great touch, used them twice.
Disliked Dogs off the lead a lot. Road and airfield noise. Pitches too small for large tents and vehicles. Felt very squashed when it picked up at the weekend. Some noise much earlier and later than rules state, maybes just check at busier times.

Great site to visit White Peak
Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Easy to book. Arrived at ETA and greeted by staff with a smile and allocated pitch in top field. Mainly level pitch but field sloping so pitches terraced. Facilities are adequate and clean. Shower is push button and temperature is reasonable. Although this was a weekend the number of people never seemed to overwhelm the facilities. Both male and female and family rooms available. Gates were locked at 10pm and opened in morning by staff. Customers were given the padlock number. Drinking water available. EHU 16 amp excellent. Lots of information for local attractions and DVD / books to borrow. TV signal was great but phone signal was poor. There is no wifi but an application for a mast has been made according to a notice on the gate.
Disliked General waste bin available at campsite exit… no apparent recycling88. Maybe campers in lower field might find this inconvenient. FYI the switch on EHU for pitch 5 in upper field does not switch to ´ON’. The A517 is a noisy road during daylight but is quieter in evening and during the night. There is no path to the village and Ashbourne is 4 miles away.
