General

  • Laidback, peaceful site spread over 13 acres in the Chiltern Hills
  • A ten-minute drive from Beaconsfield; half an hour from Thorpe Park
  • Handy access to motorways and trains for London days out

Hedsor Field Camping is in one of those enviable spots that’s surrounded by gorgeous countryside and yet handily set for easy access from the motorway.

Beaconsfield and the M40 are both five minutes away, and both the M4 and M25 about 15 minutes away, but the outlook is firmly rural at this Buckinghamshire site on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, just between two well-established woodlands. Being in that particular spot also means a stunning view down the valley of the River Wye, a protected chalk stream.

There’s plenty of space around on site from which to take all this in – 13 acres, in fact, with a dedicated open space and a wildflower strip that’s quite a haven for butterflies and birds. And it’s a laidback kind of place too, welcoming kids and dogs and permitting the lighting of barbecues and firepits for sociable cosy evenings. There are also five pubs within walking distance, the closest being a 10-minute stroll away.

Facilities on site include flushing toilets, an accessible toilet with baby change station, four showers, a washing-up area and mains drinking water. A footpath from the site leads to a big park with a play area for any kids that need somewhere to let off steam; it's also possible to walk to a play farm and golf course too.

There's plenty to keep you occupied in this part of the world (farm parks, National Trust properties and walks, for example) but if you fancy a proper change of scenery this is a nifty location for day trips to London (from Beaconsfield station).

We welcome small peaceful groups and families to the site. I am afraid we cannot take large group bookings.

Excellent site. No electric or WiFi, exactly what we wanted. Toilets and shower facilities are available and are well kept and clean. The showers are amazing - better than what I have at home! There is a basic shop and occasionally food and drinks available at certain times of the day if you wanted to get a quick bite to eat. Dog friendly and quiet environment. Perfect for a short family get away. The customer service was excellent and the staff couldn't do more for you. We would stay again. Thank you Philip and the team for your hard work. See you again soon.

Pretty site above Wooburn Green with two great pubs, close to lots of walking, a large park & quiet lanes for cycling. Charming host who was happy to help & great catering available in the mornings & evenings. Density was sensible & cars were parked to one side. Good shorts & toilets regularly cleaned. Thoroughly well run.

The site was great and the team running it were friendly and very accomodating!

We really enjoyed the tranquility of the site surrounded by likeminded people and the toilet, shower and shop facilities were all excellent!

The Coffee van, BBQ breakfasts and evening food vans were the cherry on top that made our weekend.

The site is a basic field with nice views over towards the glamping pitches down into the valley below. Nice sized pitches and the staff spaced us out nicely. The ground is quite stony so be prepared to lose a few pegs but this can hardly be helped.

The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and the shower water was nice and hot. There were several wash points around the field as well including hot washing up water at one station.

The staff were really nice and went out of their way to make sure you had everything. The fire-starting packs had nice dry wood and it was nice to see everyone enjoying a fire. There was also a pizza van that sold beer and a coffee van in the mornings next to a BBQ selling sausage sandwiches etc. There was also a shop selling basic bits but also farm products from the farm the site was housed on. I found all of this a nice touch.

The area is very nice with several pubs nearby and a short walk down to the Thames. We had a good explore and saw various other bits like golf and archery that might be booked within walking distance.
