Liked: No restrictions on arrival & departure time, as I needed to depart early for an event.
Disliked: No allocated pitch, or defined camping areas, it was just an open field, but some people like that. There were shower facilities, but they were within the three toilet cubicles, which often meant the toilets were frequently unavailable. There were insufficient toilet facilities for the number of people that were on site.

Liked: Seeing the llamas
Disliked: We arrived amidst a huge car event/ festival which was not advertised on booking. We began our drive up the horrendous drive way (we were in a van and was skidding all over due to awfully uneven ground). We located the busy fields and had no idea where to go or who to see, as nothing was sig on posted/ evident. We decided just to pitch in the edge of the hill near the llamas. On pulling our tent out, we were approached by a man asking if we spoke Polish. He then continued to say that it was going to be very loud and if we wanted to pitch in that location we shouldn’t complain about the noise. We decided to get back in our van and drive round looking for another location. We drove onto the large field to be greeted by grown men dragging each other in dinghies, tents full of beer kegs and all round shouting and screaming. I’d be well up for this if I had gone to a festival, but I hadn’t. I had booked a quiet weekend away with my family at a family friendly campsite (as advertised). After driving round to find a quiet location and having no idea who to approach to ask, we decided to head home. For us it was a wasted day, and a shame as we were looking forward to this trip.

From the manager: Dear Charlotte, I fully appreciate that you were a little confused when you arrived and for that I do apologise and take accountability. However, you made zero attempt to reach out to us at all via email, phone call or any other form of messaging service. We had around four staff members that day, all of which would have been able to direct you specifically reserved quiet family camping. Our farm is 145 acres, the family car event took place in an 8 acre field. Instead you made what seems to me a rather rash decision and drive 2 and a half hours home, and more than that immediately write a strongly worded email to myself requesting a refund for your stay; this to me is further proof that it would have been very easy for you to reach out to us via email or phone call. I fully appreciate that this has not been the experience that you were hoping for but overall i have been left feeling that we were given very little chance to rectify your stay. We had many other families stay with us for that weekend, we made an effort to speak to everyone there and apologise if there had been any confusion, we offered full refunds to all our guests regardless of if they requested one for the weekend or not. Many of the families decided that they were very happy camping near to the event and even joined in. Other families were very happy to be directed towards the quieter camping fields.
Really good l, best site of out holiday so far.

Liked: We loved the location for the pretty views and forest walk and also closeness to London. The facilities were very good with 2 toilets and showers, as well as a kitchen and fridge. We had a lovely time there.
Disliked: Lamas roaming freely by the tent, and slightly intimidating our little dog, even though that was very entertaining, but I'm sure the neighbours didn't like the barking
