Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: It has beautiful walking pathways within the woods, with Rhododendrons and other flowers along the path. The option to have the possibility to camp in the open or within the woods is a plus, coupled with the possibility to have a campfire makes this an excellent choice.
Disliked: Although the toilets were ok, it had a tap but no sink to wash the dishes. We went there as a large group so it was inconvenient to have the water splatter over us while washing the dishes.

From the manager: Thank you for your generous review. We’re very pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay and that you plan a return trip. We are working on improvements to the washing-up facilities and we thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. Your feedback is very much appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: The field is beautiful and each pitch well spaced out so you felt a sense of privacy. The local walks are accessible directly from the campsite and gorgeous. Facilities were clean, plenty of handwash, hand towels, sanitary bin cleared daily and loo roll! They are basic - toilet and sink only but this is fully explained on the website so we were fully informed and happy. We received a warm welcome from the owners and their dog. Lovely campsite - we were able to switch off from the world in seconds. Bliss.
Disliked: All good.

Liked: There was an option to set the tents into the wood or meadow. Footpath in the wood is fantastic with plenty of different paths and lovely purple forest roses. Although it was rainy, still was such a lovely 2 days there!
Disliked: There was no sink around the washing area and female toilet is not ideal.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you, also, for the feedback on the facilities. We’ll certainly take a look at the ladies’ loo situation and see if we can fix up a washing up area.

Liked: Friendly and welcoming owners, large area to pitch our tent on and beautiful scenery across the meadow. Plenty of nearby wildlife and clean toilet facilities. Brought our dog who had a great time meeting and running around with the owners dog. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

Liked: A lovely area, a central base to explore the area. The site is unspoiled with plenty of places to play/explore e.g. the woods, rope swing, big field - exactly what's needed to have a good time camping, and to completely unwind. We all enjoyed seeing the deer explore the field! Audrey and Keith couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming.
Disliked: The only downside was the facilities, but you don't spend a huge amount of time in the toilets etc anyway so it wasn't an issue for us. The benefits far outweighed the negative

From the manager: Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It means a lot to us when visitors appreciate the simplicity of what we’re offering. It’s basically just wildlife, woods and a swing! We really enjoyed having you here and look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes Keith and Audrey

Liked: We arrived and were welcomed by Keith and Tiger (his dog) who was super friendly and helpful, he gave us a tour around the beautiful campsite and gave us recommendations for the local area, such as kayaking, pubs and walks. We camped in the wooded area and were lucky enough to be the only ones at the site. We saw and heard many deer and birds throughout our stay, giving it a magical and off-grid feel. Due to Keith and I sharing a birthday that day, he gave us the fire bowl and wood for free! (usually available to use at a small fee). Thanks for a lovely stay, Keith and Audrey :)
