Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The calm and scenery . Friendly owners. Relaxed atmosphere. Good for a short stay.

Disliked Toilets although basic could be a little better I think. Nowhere to wash crockery but buckets were provided. Difficult to find a large yellow signs only say name of farm in small letters at the bottom of sign.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Friendly owners, timely response to our request, and nice field to camp in. We enjoyed the rustic site and remote location. The ladies loo was clean.

Disliked Unfortunately the site has a sewage works nearby and the smell carried itself over to us! This is why I've given a rating of 7 instead of 9

Non-electric grass and earth touring pitch

Liked Nice and quiet. Lots of space. Friendly owners and nice walks nearby. The kids loved the swings in the trees.

Disliked We knew there were no showers, but I think in future we would only come back if showers were available. It was 25 degrees and just not pleasant not being able to shower.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We’re glad that you enjoyed the space and the walks and also that your children enjoyed the simple pleasure of the swing.

We’re sorry to hear that you wouldn’t visit again because we don’t offer shower facilities. We keep this policy under review and all feedback is much appreciated. It certainly was a very hot weekend!

Best wishes

Disliked Difficult to find site. Not adequately signposted.
Although aware site is basic but Toilets block not very clean and Ladies single toilet can only be described as filthy.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.

We’re glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet of our lovely site.

We do have as many signs as we are permitted to display on the road leading to the farm. We also have a sign on the road where the ford is (stream with no bridge) explaining that guests should not use that route. These directions are also clearly stated on your booking form and we would urge guests to acquaint themselves with all the advice given before they set off.

We’re sorry that you found the toilets unsatisfactory. We are always on site and only a phone call away and would really appreciate you letting us know so that we can put things right straight away.

All feedback is much appreciated and helps us to improve things which are within our control.

I would come back if the road was not as bad as it was

Liked Quiet area with friendly owners with plenty of space for dogs and children to run around

Disliked Road to the site was uneven with potholes, didn’t use the toilets but they didn’t look too clean

From the manager: Thank you for your review.

We certainly do have a lot of space for guests to enjoy here.

The farm track is quite rustic and uneven. There’s no getting away from that!

We do ask guests to let us know if the loos need attention and we’re sorry if you felt they weren’t up to scratch when you visited.

Your feedback is much appreciated.

Route directions

Please make sure that you use Gravelpit Hill Lane to access the site. Satnav devices often suggest Ellis’ Hill as the best route. Please don’t come this way. There is a ford which is sometimes quite deep. You need to be on the B3030 (Arborfield to Twyford or vice versa) to reach the site. Drive to the top of Gravelpit Hill Lane, and then turn right. The farm is a few hundred yards along on the left. What3words: blip.reverted.cutback.
