Liked Quiet peaceful location. Friendly owner Paul. Good base location for exploring the Dales. The price for the pitch and EHU is very good.

Liked We have stayed at Portavadie several times. We like the peace and quiet of the area. The winter price per night of £25 is good. Strangely the price per night on a Thursday or Friday in the winter months is £35. The showers and toilets are spotless. The staff are very helpfull and friendly. Good walks around the area. The ferry across to Tarbert makes a good day out, but beware on a Sunday in the winter months that nothing is open. It used to have a good Co-Op, but that was all boarded up also. It was like a ghost town.

Disliked When Portavadie used to have tent pitches we could use the Portacabins to wash dishes and use the toilet as they are closer to the motorhome pitches, but now that they have shepherd huts instead they are locked and used by the cleaning staff. So if you don't have washing facilities in your campervan or TentBox there is no facility for washing dishes. I did notice that the outside sinks are still at the back of the Portacabins and only have cold running water, but in bad weather that's just not practical.
