Clover shepherd's hut (five person)
Liked Absolutely everything. The Shepherd huts are so gorgeous, well appointed and clean, and the beds incredibly comfy. Chelworth Shepherd huts are as much as destination holiday as they are just an entry on Pitchup... once you are there you are warmly welcomed, and invited to explore the whole farm and site - and you won't get bored doing so! We saw chickens, parrots, horses, we fed some sheep; curious statues, a really curious playpark; it is absolutely smashing!
Kate and Graham are two of the most lovely and interesting people you will meet, and if your schedules allow you may well get a grand tour of the entire site, introductions to the farm equipment, vintage vehicles, train carriages - you wouldn't believe it all until you've been!
On the huts themselves, they are all secluded away in a little dell at the top of the farm, though close together - the bushes and trees make each of them truly hidden, and picnic benches and BBQs throughout mean there is no shortage of space to make your own. The toilet and shower block is functional and clean - take a look at the pictures they show exactly what it is like and it suited our purposes of somewhere between a tent and a holiday caravan perfectly. As soon as you arrive, whatever you feel you were expecting or planning will just shift, as you think "This is it. I'm a shephard now!". There also happens to be a football goal in the adjoining field though which suited my eldest to the ground.
We will definitely be returning to Chelworth; this was our last summer holiday jaunt this year, and despite weeks abroad, visits to grandparents - this was absolutely voted the best trip we made!
