Liked clean quiet and very safe camping field. Very good facilities.Helpful management at the end of the phone. I was informed the night before that the adjacent fields were due to be worked All campers observed the no noise rules and I had an extremely pleasant 5 nights. Four pubs within walking distance (catty, oak, mayfly and peat and shovel)and also Danebury hill fort.... great flat walks along the valley and fords for dogs, and me, to paddle in.

Disliked 40 minutes ,round trip,of single track tarmac road needs to be walked before connecting to local footpaths or nearest (cheapest)pubs. Depending on your pitch the adjacent road and workers at vineyard could disrupt the peace and quiet.....as can the paintball set up on the weekend I stayed. I

Where's Candice Marie?

Jul 2026

Liked Clean and well maintained, there is access to many walks straight from the pitch without touching more than 10 metres of tarmac including the Ridgeway(the village sits on the very edge of the cerne os map so two os maps required). Friendly host, nice safe site. Will definitely stay again, there's so many walks but it was tooooo hot this trip..... didn't move the van the whole stay

Disliked Not a big problem, but levelling blocks are handy as is a tarpaulin for creating shade , it's been like 30 plus.....

Clean well maintained safe environment

Jul 2026

Liked Well maintained site, clean loos, well stocked and friendly approachable manager. Plenty of space for family ball games etc but also peaceful for one man and a dog to appreciate the Dorset countryside and unwind. The site felt very safe with plenty of walks nearby and a nice village with pub and shop... I didn't need my car keys.

Disliked Sloping field, leveling blocks recommended but not absolutely necessary depending on your pitch. The open season is not long enough!!

Clean and well maintained, good location

Jun 2026

Liked Second stay at this site, exploring the surrounding area and nearby forest with my dog . This site is very clean and well maintained. The porta loo was very clean and well stocked with essential items. The views are excellent whether enjoying your evening drinks and food as the sun sets or early morning cuppa.....there are two pubs very close by , walking distance, offering food and good quality beer if self catering isn't for you. There was plenty of room for privacy and I found the other campers to be courteous and quiet. If you have a camp "bin" ensure it has a lid or is emptied at night due to scavenging wildlife. Good natured owner and friendly locals. planning to return.
