Jun 2026

Liked A fantastic campsite! There is plenty of space for tents, with picnic tables, dedicated fire pits, and bags of firewood available to buy on site. Everything was clean, peaceful, and well looked after. The owner was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The toilets and showers were spotless throughout our stay and were clearly cleaned and maintained to a very high standard. The campsite offers beautiful views across the surrounding hills and is just a short walk from a lovely village with friendly pubs. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay in the heart of a working farm, surrounded by stunning countryside, this is the perfect spot. We would happily stay here again.

Not recommend

Jul 2026

Liked Beautiful views and very clean toilet facilities. The lady who looked after the toilets and showers was incredibly friendly and did a fantastic job keeping them spotless. There are three hiking trails nearby and plenty of mountain biking trails to explore.

Disliked The campsite is nothing more than a very steep hillside. Finding a reasonably flat spot to pitch a tent is practically impossible. The field is covered in litter, and the grass is so long that you have to flatten it with your tent. Hidden in the long grass we even found an old abandoned tent, a sleeping bag, and other remains of someone else's campsite. Next to the small car park designated for the campsite, there are several rubbish bins that clearly hadn't been emptied for a long time, with bags of rubbish piled up around them. During our entire week-long stay, not a single member of staff came to check the campsite, let alone clean or maintain it. The campsite is located right beside a fairly busy cycle path and is completely unfenced, so anyone can walk in and take whatever they like. The toilets, however, are the most surprising part. Reaching them involves walking down a very steep hill and then crossing a busy car park, around 500 metres away. The men's toilet is locked overnight, while the women's remains open only because the lock appears to be broken. After making that walk, men are left with no option but to use the bushes. The toilets are public facilities serving the car park and are not proper campsite facilities. There are no toilets, showers, or any other amenities within a reasonable walking distance of the camping area. It's a real shame that the campsite owner doesn't mention that this is more like a ski slope than a field suitable for tents, and that the site is not maintained at all. I would not recommend staying here.

Liked Absolutely fantastic place! Very quiet, family-friendly, and with a limited number of tents, which gives everyone plenty of privacy. The composting toilets were spotless and smelled fresh, the showers had hot water, and there was also a convenient dishwashing area. Everything is very eco-friendly. On top of that, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Highly recommended!

A charming and peaceful spot in…

Aug 2025

Liked A charming and peaceful spot in a tiny village, just steps away from a friendly, character-filled pub. The only slight drawback is the absence of a proper bathroom, and portable toilet that isn’t exactly fragrant, but is spotless and regularly cleaned. When the pub is open, guests can use the indoor toilets. There’s also a sink with running water on-site. A wonderful place for anyone craving peace, quiet, and a slower pace of life.
