Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked This is a unique site that is nestled in the middle of the Longleat Estate. Many people were there for the 5 minute walk to the safari park but the area has much more to offer. There are many local towns (Warminster, Frome and Trowbridge) and a bit further afield are Bath, Bristol and Salisbury. On top of that, only 20 minutes away is Stonehenge. Being a Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) site it has all the facilities you would expect and everything is kept clean and tidy.
Disliked The CAMC sites are the defacto standard on how to design and run a campsite. Unfortunately, they were designed and built before wifi existed and although free wifi has been subsequently installed, when 300+ people are using it, it does struggle.

Electric optional grass and gravel touring pitch
Liked Was visiting the area to meet up with family and attend Melplash Show. West Bay wanted £170 for 2 nights, Pear Tree Farm cost £42 for 2 nights plus you pay for the electric you use (£4.83 in our case for 2 days/nights). There is also one toilet and one shower (£1 for 8 mins) on site. There is no charge for dogs. The reason I list all this is because some people will pay £21 a night and still want the facilities of a £50 to £80 a night site. That's unfair, because if you apply price discrimination, this site provides the most value for money. It is a jewel in the crown, hidden away in the West Dorset countryside. Gary the owner was very friendly and approachable and only too willing to assist if help is needed. If it was possible, this is one site that I would give 20 out of 10.

From the manager: Thank you so much, We just love our little campsite and the people we meet. So glad you enjoyed your stay despite the roasting heatwave (I know many people love it more than me :) Hope to see you back one day!
