Lodge 2 bedroom safari tent
Liked Lovely spacious pitch, safari tent was great respite from camping in our roof tent. Good facilities across the site, table tennis, volley ball, bar, walks around lake, a supermarket within 5min walk. Owners were super friendly and helpful, usually always around, gave us some discounts etc to local attractions. Lots to do in the local area, swimming lakes, water sports, castles, Saumur town - train/castle/restaurants/parks and much more that we didn’t get the time to see.
Disliked Our only comments here would be it was very quiet - not much atmosphere. Site could be cleaner, tidier.

Electric optional grass motorhome pitch
Liked Great for kids - pool, bouncy castle, park.
Private sink areas.
Staff always around at reception.
Able to borrow a French adaptor for hook up.
WiFi available for fee.
Good access to local areas for those holidaying.
Disliked Pitches have a lot of gravel not ideal for small ones playing.
Toilets/showers could be better. Not much privacy/no toilet seats/no full length mirrors. Couldn’t find any baby changing/bathing facilities. Disabled shower rooms - no hooks or surfaces to put anything down, everything gets wet. Showers very temperamental, needed assistance to get them working - token system.
No signal, have to pay for their WiFi.

Electric optional grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Bar/restaurant facilities were good. Toilets/showering was clean.
Large/private pitches
Small
Park for kids
Ideal for Callis stop off
Disliked No one around to help at least not before 2pm. Description in detail suggests that there is a shop in local town, things to do. I would argue not - no shop in walking distance, very quiet site, not great for kids.

Spitfire electric grass pitch
Liked Great family feel. Kids played out with other children which was lovely to see. Mary was fab, really helpful and welcoming. Everything you need. We were lent ramps for the camper and a longer hook up lead. Quiet at 10pm which was ideal for getting kids to sleep at a reasonable hour. Most pitches have a picnic bench which is a great bonus!
Disliked Toilets and showers could have been cleaner.
Unfortunately the WiFi didn’t work for any of our party and the provider support team were not very helpful. There is very little signal, worth noting if your planning a visit but wouldn’t deter me from staying again.

From the manager: Thanks for your comments Jessica, Yes, the signal for WIFI etc can be patchy because of the location. We do try to speak to the provider if there are any issues and they usually rectify it quickly. The joy of a rural setting! The Blue Hills Team
