Marvelous views, nice facilities but can feel windy.

Liked Wonderful setting with interesting long-distance panoramic views. Campervan pitches are right next to the racetrack so you see all the interesting fairway maintainable going on.
Facilities clean and modern. Nice indoor washing up sink and laundry with plenty of hot water.
Short drive into Hexham, lots to see.
Disliked There was a bit of temperature fluctuation with the showers, seemingly relating to the push button system, but otherwise excellent facilities.

Riddings Wood Holiday Park

A lovely site, peaceful yet handy for the M1. Great for children too.
Jul 2026 Liked This site is only a short drive from the M1, so ideal as a stopover for a longer journey. It is a welcoming, friendly and well-kept site.There is a good view across the valley, especially from the hard standing pitches at the top of the site.
There was only 1 toilet block in action while we were there (early July, mid-week, not busy), but it was a clean and smart portacabin- style building (climb steps to access). Showers are push button, nice and hot, and run for a good 20s per press.
We enjoyed a peaceful stay, very quiet at night. There is a nice, modern, fenced off play area in the centre of the grassed area and there is woodland all around.

Heath Farm Caravan Site

A lovely site, close to main road so easy to get to.
Aug 2024 Liked Small site with level grass pitches, easy to access. Loved the little shed with fairy lights and items for sale. Immaculate facilities - toilet and separate wash basin cubicle with hot water. Washing up sink and recycling plus elsan area are all indoors (repurposed stables). Lovely walk through the fields.
Disliked The site was exactly as described online. It is right next to the road and near the airfield so expect to hear traffic and see interesting aircraft flying over. However, be aware that the volunteer run aircraft museum is only open on Fridays and weekends.
