Electric optional hardstanding pitch
Liked Friendly and helpful staff. Even loaned us a caravan step as we had forgotten ours. Very relaxed feel to the site. Site is basic but had everything we needed for our stay and the amenities were clean. Excellent value for money even factoring in the additional electricity charge.
The best part is the pub itself. The food is all home made, decent portions, very affordable and above all delicious.
We were in the area to attend the “Kynren” show and this was a perfect base being only appx 15 - 20 mins drive to park and ride for the event.
Disliked Didn’t dislike anything. Even the trains didn’t impact negatively on our stay as barely noticed them.

Electric grass pitch
Liked Site was in a good location for what we wanted to do and was quiet
Disliked We booked a hard standing as we didn’t want a grass pitch in the rain. However, we would have been better booking a grass pitch as the hard standing was basically mud with very small stones in it that made a mess in the caravan and car every time you walked on it and was quite slippery.
The toilet/shower block was very dated and had a fusty smell.
Someone let their dog foul by our caravan twice without picking it up.

From the manager: The Hard Standing pitches are there for those with large motorhomes who require a solid base in wet weather to prevent getting stuck on wet grass, due to the weight of their vehicle. This is a solid base that allows heavy vehicles to manoeuvre into position, (potentially on and off several times during their stay), without sinking onto the grass on wet days. We do allow motorhome owners to put down a door mat on their pitch should they feel the need to, during wet weather. We do have a notice on the park for all dog owners to keep their dogs on a lead and clean up after them at all times. Unfortunately we have limited control over this should one dog owner decide to ignore the notice. We do however highlight this to everyone using the touring field and anyone found not to be following the guidance will be notified immediately by a member of staff. The Toilet/Shower block is cleaned on a regular basis and ventilation is provided to prevent odours.
