And even if you’re not visiting by vessel, it’s still worth booking a pitch for the spectacular riverside location in the Norfolk Broads. While relaxing by the water, keep an eye out for herons and kingfishers among the marshes. The site also has a private fishing lake stocked with carp, bream and rudd and you can fish for free from the banks of the River Yare.

Wander or cycle along the 46-mile Peddars Way through thick woodland and open countryside, ending up at Holme-next-the-Sea on the north Norfolk coast.
