Solway Holiday Park

Me gustó Arcades were decent, restaurant was good, everywhere was clean, manager who checked me in on camping good bloke. The young bloke who was on the arcades was lovely

No me gustó We were placed on a pitch everything was great, well maintained site. Came back after a long day.. sited on what is meant to be 4 pitches was.. 7 tents (not small) and 1 caravan and over 8 cars parked around. Noise from them 5.30 everyday... we cut our holiday short as i couldn't take no more, as there were people arguing 4am too. Seems like anyone can drive onto site.. no security on entrance. Made me uneasy allowing the kids to go play (age 11 /8 they're not young). So I didn't allow it.

This site doesn't have big shop near it.. nearest is Carlisle way. So if you go, make sure you get a big shop on your way. Otherwise I think it was a 45 minute to an hour drive (depending on traffic).

On the last day... Thursday my daughter saved all her tickets throughout the week. We went to exchange at the shop he closed it in front of her (this was a different bloke from the beginning of the week) this bloke on thursday (big bloke) his attitude stinks.. I said we're on our way home you just shut it.. his reply if i open it i have to do it for everyone else (leaning on the bar with a attitude) There wasn't a lot of people i said could she at least get a couple sweets (10 points ea baring in mind she had 400 tickets) he said no. So we go away and come back and just say you know shes put a lot of money in and it was balancing on the edge (2p machines) in exchange for all tickets he didn't say anything.. opened it up getting my daughters hope up 8 year old and put it further back locked it up and walked away. I wasn't happy he was a miserable sod. I was furious!

Me gustó Swimming pool was ok. Only activity we done was ceramic painting that was good.

No me gustó The site looked very untidy once past the entry gate. Touring area was not controlled at all and large areas set up with mini camps of people! were told to just find someplace when we arrived. Noise restrictions weren't stuck too or enforced. litter everywhere. toilet facilities were new but didn't seemed to be cleaned often. Only 1 warden for the whole touring & camping area but he was friendly and helpful.

Me gustó Loved the park, facilities and space

Cleaner did and amazing job every day in the campimg facilities.

No me gustó Shows a lack of maintenance at present, not enough staff which means small isssues will escalate and cost more to fix.

1. Camping showers blocked and showers not functioning correctly.
2. Part of roof soffit falling off
3. Not enough enforcement of noise curfew

Me gustó Cleanliness of facilities. Friendliness of the staff, especially the young lad who worked in the amusement arcade. Swimming pool and the club were also great.

Me gustó We liked having a separate pitch divided by bushes as that helped reduce the wind quite a bit.

The swimming pool was lovely.

No me gustó The noise was ridiculous until the early hours (2:00am at least!) with adults shouting and older kids playing music full blast. No respect for other campers.

The pitches were left with rubbish all over them when people left and this wasn’t cleaned up after.

The shower and toilet facilities were very dirty most of the time. I saw them tidy only once. These need cleaning at least 3 times a day in school holidays. Kids were unattended in there and it wasn’t very nice. This was a shame as they looked like they could have been lovely if clean.

There was tissue paper in the drain of the water tap that looked disgusting. That was there the whole time we were there and hadn’t been cleaned once.

If these things were cleaned more it would have been a whole different experience.

10:00am is too early for tents to get packed up and off site. We had to be up at 08:00 and totally missed breakfast. 12:00 would be much better like most other sites.

Me gustó The touring facilities where great
Arcade and kids disco where great fun

No me gustó Pizza truck and chip shop closed, so only option was the restaurant which had restrictive times.
The facilities around the clubhouse and reception are really run down and in need of some care/repair
Seagulls have completely taken over the site meaning most surfaces were covered in seagull dropping. The seagulls were also very loud during the night waking me on multiple occasions.

Me gustó The campsite was lovely sized, and the toilet/shower block was ideally located

No me gustó I only saw 1 staff member then entire weekend and it seemed like he was stretched thin. There wasn’t much info given when we arrive. Pitchup said there was a quiet time between 10pm and 8:30am however we had multiple people around us still blaring music and yelling at almost midnight. There wasn’t much info no staff to control this and no one to go to cause when we rang a number it just said reception was closed. Honestly a little disappointed and probably won’t be returning due to this. We have young children and even they were struggling to sleep with the amount of noise.

No me gustó Site is very tired and old, almost everything was closed ad the shop even shut early every night, showers had no seperate changing spaces, entertainment was very poor even 4 and 7 year old were not impressed. Activity centre looks like a abandoned buildingand the soft play is closed permanently Considering it is high season the lack of open food places and entertainment is very poor would not return here
