Off to explore the Lake District, the Scottish Borders or Hadrian's Wall – and want to stay at a holiday park with heaps to do on site for when you’re not out and about? Nearby Solway Holiday Park should fit the bill, as it's had several million pounds on updating its leisure facilities to make this 130-acre holiday park a highly sought-after place to stay on the stunning Solway Firth coast. It’s also located within walking distance of the Victorian seaside town of Silloth, in a handy spot for all sorts of outings on both sides of the England/Scotland border. That mix means you can really tailor your holiday to your own tastes, whether you’re planning to explore the scenery of the Lake District National Park and Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, hit the beach or focus your attentions on the activities available on site (or some combination of all of the above…) And those activities… well, there are lots and lots of them to fill your time with. The indoor pool, sports field and games arcade might be a place to start (all of these being free to use) while you consider which of the other activities you might like to join in with. Might it be aqua games, teddy bear hunts or pirates and princesses adventures for the younger kids, or archery, zorbing, axe throwing and bird of prey experiences for older guests? Em va agradar The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. Food from the pizza truck was nice.
Arcades were enjoyed by the kids and the site was massive.
Enjoyed the Night time entertainment

No em va agradar Toilets within the camping/touring area were adequate and had everything you would need however were disgusting. Didnt get cleaned once during our stay and the volume of people who use them meant they were really dirty. Wee all over the floor of the mens toilets! Park was small and seemed unfinished. Football pitch was old and artificial grass was ruined.

No em va agradar Packed in like sardines. Very very busy!
Large groups took over. BBQs, music and drinking went on till 4am every night.

No em va agradar Tents are pitched for to close and crammed to each other. Toilets and shower block are a brand new building,The cleanimess however was discusting. They need a cleaner who goes in there more than once a day. Food at the restaurant was rank,pizza shop was the worst pizza ive ever had.

Em va agradar Facilities in main complex were generally clean and maintained better than touring facilities.

No em va agradar Touring toilet and shower block were disgusting, no toilet roll’s in a lot of cubicles, and definitely not enough for the amount of people staying.
No family bathroom’s or shower facilities making it difficult having young kids.
Very noisy till late at night, quiet time is ment to be after 11 but got quite rowdy at after midnight again.
Open fire’s & bbq’s when there is sign’s everywhere saying not to and after government text alerts.
Over all site very untidy looking with lots of weeds.
Restaurant service was slow for the amount of people in the place.
Check in could be easier if sent straight to touring instead of main reception as you cant check in there and need to go to touring field to check in.

No em va agradar Very noisy in the evening playing loud music until very late, children running around very late. Children messing about around the toilet and shower block again late at night.

Em va agradar Loved the fact that the entertainmeat for the kids is on pretty early so they can still get to bed early enough. We stayed in the camping patch and it was perfect! Showers and toilets well maintained also there is a splash park on the coast not far from the holiday park and it's free! Great for the kids we will be back soon.

No em va agradar The shop is mega expensive. But that's to be expected l. There a co-op that's 6mins drive from the site. Everything else was great.

On the English side of the Firth, Solway guests can reach the north-western lakes of the Lake District National Park, day trips to Carlisle and the hills and stargazing of Northumberland National Park. On the Scottish side, you could hike the Galloway Hills, run away to Gretna or drive further afield to urban days out at Edinburgh or Glasgow. (To see it all at once, take a trip to championship Solway Golf Course where you can tee around to views of the Lakeland Fells, Galloway Hills and across to the Isle of Man.) Moseying towards Northumberland (stop off at Carlisle Castle and The Lanes shopping centre on the way), friends, Romans and countrymen can walk as much of the Hadrian’s Wall Path as they can manage: it’s the north of England’s most visited tourist attraction and most of it runs along the Solway Firth on its way to Northumberland. Happily for such a family-centred site, kiddish fun is all around Solway Holiday Park too: farm park Orton Grange, getting open-mouthed at the fish and other inhabitants at Lake District Coast Aquarium, or going on a hop around award-winning World of Beatrix Potter.
