Liked Our pitch was great , it was the second pitch as the first was so unlevel but second time lovely. For families it really has everything you would want and would recommend for that, for couples ( we were heading or at the start of summer school holidays ) possibly not. Facilities were clean
Disliked Too busy for us. Electric ... we paid fir electric ,the campsite a couple of days later took another £10 which meant we paid nearly £18 for a 3 day stay when we had only used£6.72. We emailed to say about this but never heard back.

Liked Pleasant site ,nice dog walk although you could let your dogs off on the walk , if you have a naughty dog like ours he needs a enclosed walk/park. The road closures were a nightmare which did impact on our stay. Lovely forest park can recommend .
Disliked It was a shame about the road closures .

Liked The space of the pitches , and it was very quiet. Having a seperate fire area
Disliked Compost toilets, need sawdust .
The second field looked a bit like a shanty town , the river was reallya stream and the trees could of been cut back a bit to make it astatically pleasing. The outside bbq area (guessing thats what it was) either needs to be re done or just got rid of. Just generally the whole site needs a tidy and a bit of tlc.

From the manager: Hi - it sounds like we weren't the right fit for you but we appreciate your feedback. The compost loos: we add the sawdust or straw ourselves as when we left it for customers to do, the urine part of the separating seat just kept getting blocked up (we have a lot of children coming to stay) We have a number of storage caravans and seasonal pitches on field two. We're not the sort of site that has lots of rules about keeping everything tidy and 'perfect' so I'm sorry that bothered you. We are a low impact back-to-basics site so we do let the trees grow and leave some areas a bit 'wilder' to hopefully support wildlife. Thats the way we like it and the many people that keep coming back obviously like it too. But totally understand that it wasn't one for you. When Ian has finished the house, I'll make sure he gets back on to finishing the round house on campsite 1.

Liked Lovely location, nice welcome, great pitch, good wifi . Nice to have all facilities and showers in the laundry room were fab. Information about walks bus times , things to do and pubs pinned in laundry room. Quiet and calm.
Disliked Road a bit tight but they do give directions on web site. No dog walk . Elson point needs improving to low to ground some splash back, not the owners fault however people dont clean the hose pipe and should have respect for others and the owners.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review we are pleased that you liked our site and indeed will visit again. As a working livestock farm we are unable to provide a dog walk. Grass fields close to the site may look an option but the grass grown is for feed and as such we cannot risk contamination as canine waste can be toxic and indeed fatal to bovines. We do not advertise a dog walk but are close to various options and are happy to give directions. Thank you for your comments on our waste disposal system it is of a standard design and to raise the sides would possibly make it difficult for our less able guests, Another option is to book one of our four "premium" pitches where you can connect directly to the drain if this is preferable.

Liked Cant really say as we didnt stay. It was very windy and we felt very open.
Disliked If you need elsan you need to walk to entrance and no water by it to rinse tank out. Also there was a featival nearby with constant music. We did feel uneasy on site , supposed to stay for 3 nights ,stayed for 3 hours .
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: We're sorry you didn't stay and wish you had taken the opportunity to speak to us so that we could see if we could have done anything to enable you to want to stay. The wind is obviously out of our control, you did come on a windy weekend however others were in tents and were fine and you were given complete freedom of where to pitch. We do not currently advertise having elsan as this is just going in, you do not need to walk to this, everyone else drives to it as it is easily accessible. There is water there, it is still going in and will be more obvious. There was a festival taking place 2-3 miles away and you could slightly hear their music, unfortunately this is completely out of our control. We really do not understand why you felt uneasy as our guests usually comment on what a lovely peaceful place it is. As we say, we are disappointed you didn't want to stay. We are pleased others enjoyed their visit over the same time period.

Liked The shower was great. Nice location. Relaxed .
Disliked The pitch we were given was no good for us so had to move to a side of a track. Elson point was digusting. The farm dogs were lovely but this led other dog owners to let their dogs also off lead, when you have a rescue dog this makes it hard work.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: We do not have/advertise hard standing. The grass pitches may not be suitable for very heavy vehicles. The Elson point is a toilet buried in the ground. If the flush mechanism is used and the adjacent spray gun is used it should be OK. If guests tell us our free range dogs are a problem we will keep them out of the way.

Thanks for every Derek and for being so understanding about our dog and sorry again about that.
