Disliked Not being able to keep your vehicle beside your tent. It’s a long walk to the loo and to the car park

Great park, poor rule enforcement; 3 stars until safety improves.
Thurston Manor tents primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We stayed on a grass tent pitch and overall had a very pleasant experience. The pitch was spacious, well maintained and provided a natural camping feel. The facilities were clean, modern and conveniently located, and the park offered plenty of activities and areas for families to enjoy.
One of the highlights of our stay was the restaurant. The food was excellent, particularly the pork dish and the burger, both of which were delicious and well presented. Our 5 year old absolutely loved the spaghetti bolognese and happily finished every bite, which is always a good sign.
We also really enjoyed the arcade area, which provided plenty of entertainment for both children and adults. The overall atmosphere around the park was welcoming and family friendly, and the staff we interacted with were polite, helpful and approachable throughout our stay.
The park’s accessibility was also excellent. Getting around the site was easy, facilities were well positioned, and everything felt convenient whether travelling on foot or by car. The location itself is beautiful and provides a great base for exploring the surrounding area.
Overall, Thurston Manor has a lot to offer. The quality of the facilities, the food, the friendly staff, the family entertainment and the well maintained grounds all contributed to an enjoyable holiday experience.
Disliked The pitch area could become noisy at times due to children playing football very close to occupied tents, often late into the evening. On one occasion, a group of children set up a goal directly in front of our tent and were still playing football after 9pm. Balls regularly landed near neighbouring pitches, making it difficult to relax and raising concerns about damage to tents, vehicles and injury to other guests. During one game, a football struck our tent and hit our sleeping 5 year old child on the back. The children were also running between and behind occupied tents. When I approached them and asked whether football was allowed in that area, they insisted it was and then proceeded to call me names, which was completely unacceptable.
I was also concerned by the apparent lack of enforcement regarding e-scooters around the park. During our stay, we witnessed young children, around ten years old, riding e-scooters around the park roads and public areas. On one occasion, there was a near miss involving our car when a child on an e-scooter unexpectedly crossed in front of us whilst we were trying to park. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but it highlighted what I felt was a lack of supervision and safety enforcement.
Another serious concern was the behaviour we witnessed in the outdoor play area. Several children were using an electric scooter to power the spinning playground equipment by pressing the scooter’s motorised wheel against the spinner to make it rotate much faster than intended. This looked extremely dangerous and felt like an accident waiting to happen. As parents of a 5 year old, it made us uncomfortable allowing our child to use the play area because we were worried someone could be seriously injured.
Noise was also an issue later at night. On more than one occasion, children were still outside playing, shouting and making significant noise at around 11pm, which disturbed the otherwise peaceful atmosphere of the campsite and made it harder for families with young children to settle down for the night.
Whilst the park itself has great facilities and a fantastic location, I feel that clearer rules, better signage and more active enforcement of safety standards and quiet hours would significantly improve the experience for families staying on the camping pitches.

Enjoyed our stay but with a few concerns.
Powered grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Beautifully kept spacious site. Appreciated the restaurant and bar facilities. Toilets and showers all good.
Disliked Site was largely peaceful but there were some odd characters about, blokes driving round and round the touring area in cars for no apparent reason and people apparently moving appliances from one caravan to another. We've never seen this at any other site. It went on for hours both in the evening and the next morning and was quite unsettling.
