Sandford Holiday Park: Safari tents

General

  • Family park close to Poole, Studland and Sandbanks
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, amusement arcade, play areas and kids' clubs
  • Bowling, crazy golf, ice cream parlour, restaurant and clubhouse

Sandford Holiday Park is an apt name for this park, which has acres of Britain’s best beaches within easy reach… From its peaceful Holton Heath woodland setting, it's just a short journey to the wide sands of Studland and Sandbanks, as well as lively resorts such as Bournemouth and Poole – all of which are within a half-hour drive.

Boredom's not an option here, where the activities include a summer outdoor and indoor pool complex, a dedicated musical play pool for toddlers, courts for tennis and many other sports, bikes and pedal go-karts for hire, and nature trails crisscrossing the site.

Still standing after all that energetic stuff? Then go swing’n’rolling at the bowling, or take the kids around the jungle-themed crazy golf and reward the winner with an extra scoop at the site’s ice cream parlour.

The park also has three different kids’ clubs, banded by age to make sure top fun is had by all (even the harder-to-please teens should be mildly interested by the film-making and DJ workshops… plus the free wifi on site).

Young’uns should also enjoy the indoor soft play zone and two outdoor play areas, with a pirate ship and a climbing wall as well as the usual playground paraphernalia.

Recharge your batteries at the fish and chip shop or the Arena restaurant, which serves Costa coffee as well as pizzas and lots of other family-friendly meals. Then top it all off with a trip to the Limelite Club for family entertainment, cabaret and competitions from the sparkly Troupers: you should sleep well after that lot…

Please note

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The park does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Breed-specific legislation (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Single-sex parties of three or more people under 25 are not permitted on site.

Swimming pool access is included: please show your Entertainment pass.

Entertainment passes are included in the rate.

Disappointed with the cooked breakfast, took 45 mins to come out, it was cold and not cooked properly and the size of a child’s meal. Should have cooked back at the van!

The people were super friendly and helpful.
Site was clean with lots of facilities although they weren’t all open, there was plenty. Pitches were a good size and level. Lovely to be so close to a huge forest to go for super long walks.

    Disliked:

Some of the pre recorded entertainment
There was a lot of bunnies and squirrels which were beautiful but my dogs took offence to them being around the van.

    Disliked:

No information about the entertainment for touring which would of been nice to know; the timings and what was on, pitch not level, very little actually open, extra pay to do things on site, no WiFi on the touring caravan site, trees overgrown, barrier into caravan area didn't work very well, no lights walking down to clubhouse, very poor lighting to shower and toilet block, feels like they want more statics already got rid of tenting pitches it'll be tourers next to go! Very little close by to the site.

    Facilities clean

    Disliked:

Booked several months ago, probably had worst pitch on the site. Extremely uneven and right on a busy corner when we had young children.
Entertainment was not great . Too many gameshows , and one night someone singing rave music!! Not really suitable for family entertainment .
Customer service was terrible. Came with other family members who had unfortunately booked meadows instead of with us in paddock. Was told was full all week so couldn't change . Although full o the Sunday was half empty for rest of week. Seems they just couldn't be bothered

Local attractions

It’s a short hop in the car to begin discovering the area’s spectacular surrounds, from the wilds of the New Forest to the ancient cliffs, limestone arches and nature reserves of the Jurassic Coast (tick off another World Heritage Site on your 'must-see' list).
