  • Family site two miles from Barmouth
  • Sea views on site; short walk from Talybont station
  • Access to facilities of sister site including swimming pool
Settle in for sea views from several corners of the site at Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park in Gwynedd, in the seaside village of Tal-y-Bont and a couple of miles from the beaut beach at Barmouth. Pods and pitches here are flanked by sea and mountain views, and are within easy walking distance of the village, which has a takeaway and a riverside pub. Even closer is Talybont station, a couple of minutes' walk away and handy for outings to Barmouth beach or north to the peaks of Snowdonia. Showers, toilets and a washing-up area are available on site. The pitch price at Tyddyn Goronwy also includes a free leisure pass to its sister park Sunnysands Caravan Park, a short drive away, to use its heated indoor pool, café, fish and chip shop and other facilities – and you might want to stick around for the spectacular beachfront sunsets too.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Quiet and peaceful plenty of open space for the children to run around and play. Clean and today camping pitches well spaced out. The warden was nice and friendly and welcoming. It’s nice and close to the beach. Only a short drive to Barmouth. Over all this is a lovely little camp in a great location great for family’s who are just looking for a nice cozy camp. One thing to note which is not a camp issue of any sort and not anything they could do is that phone signal is almost nonexistent again nothing that the camp itself has anything to do with it’s just the area and a lot of wales is the same Iv found.

Disliked Showers could be a little cleaner but maybe I just went in at the wrong time of day as my dad said the men’s were perfectly clean. Only one sink for pot washing and it’s not under cover.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Location to the beach and amenities. Train station 5 mins walk away which was great for going into Barmouth. The views of the mountains were great.

Disliked The photos are misleading as the sea view is not from this site as the beach is a lot further away than the pictures show!!

£42 per night I expected better!!
Reception was closed when we arrived and had to phone to find out pitch number, gate code, toilet code. No wifi

We asked for a sea view pitch and instead got a view of the waste dump!! We were told because we booked through pitch up.com that was the pitch we’d get even though there were sea view pitches empty during our whole stay of 5 nights!!

The Reception was constantly closed and no information on local area, security etc.
The toilet blocks very basic and the toilet waste area was a health hazard.

Powered grass tent campsite

Liked Perfect site for camping with younger children. Able to use the pools and facilities at two sister holiday parks (one being sunnysands). Beach, arcades, pub, club, takeaways and restaurants within a 5 minute walk and next to Talybont station for easy access to the Cambrian coast railway (kids travel free).

Disliked Only one washing up facility, often queues to use it when the site is full.

Easy transport links to Barmouth for food

Local attractions

To Barmouth first, of course: its position on the north Wales coast surrounded by Snowdonia National Park makes it a popular and pretty place to visit – and the huge beach is pretty special to see as well. Away from the coast (eventually), a wide range of activities is available around Tyddyn Goronwy Camping Park, from cycling to hiking to pony trekking – or strap on lots of energy and tackle the Snowdon and Cadair Idris mountain ranges a short distance away. A chuffing good way to see the spectacular scenery of north Wales is on one of its small steam trains: the nearest to Tyddyn Goronwy are the Fairbourne Steam Railway just outside Barmouth and the Ffestiniog Railway about 10 miles away.
