  • Pop-up campsite in a scenic location by the Lancaster Canal
  • A 15-minute drive from Lancaster; Morecambe 25 minutes
  • Suitable for paddleboards, canoes, kayaks and fishing
The best thing about the waterside location of Glasson Dock Campsite? For some guests it will be the chance to chill out and watch canal boats chugging along or see wildlife flitting about. For others it’s all about the active options – this is a spot where you can launch canoes, kayaks and paddleboards, fish or find lovely canalside walks. This fab pop-up camping field is next to the Lancaster Canal, a few metres from Glasson Marina. As well as the canal, the river Lune is close by – and it’s not far to the Lancashire coast, perhaps best appreciated 25 minutes’ drive away at Morecambe Bay. The compact city of Lancaster (15 minutes) is close at hand too and has plenty of supermarkets, shops and places for dinner out. This simple site is equipped with functional portable toilets and cold outdoor showers and is a five-minute stroll from the various cafés and eateries of Glasson Dock, which is the starting point for a number of footpaths and bike trails. The campsite is a laidback place where dogs, barbecues and campfires are all allowed and you’ll have space for an awning or gazebo if you like. Travelling without a car? Glasson Dock Campsite is a few minutes' walk from a bus stop, where you can catch regular services to Lancaster and beyond.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Easy to find, easy to book, an excellent location for a short break. Facilities better than expected having read the comments. The host is very helpful.

Disliked Hot water would make a nice improvement to the shower but not an issue having the hot weather these days.

Liked I thought it was expensive given the facilities. The toilets are not really adequate as once you are sat down your knees are up against the door. Its impossible to lean forward to pull your pants up. I had to turn sideways in order to bend over in order to retrieve them. In a nice quiet location with picturesque walks.

Disliked Toilets

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Amazing little campsite, everything you need for a short weekend away. Great for kids, little play park in the middle where you can keep an eye on them from your tent. Canal right next to the site and a little pier to take a paddleboard onto! Great for dogs to.

Disliked Nothing to complain about.
